Does any one knoe if tvants is working ? I am getting absolutely no signal or buffer whatsoever

try re-installing it and make sure you download the NEWEST version - the old ine has expired ;)

or it could just be the channel you are trying to watch ;) maybe it is offline :?

I had just reinstalled the new version from the website I have tried guangdong ,espn china and star sports. The search engine does not work and when I have tried all the above channels it just sticks at 001on the connection. The buffer does not even show

how long did you wait for each channel? sometimes it takes me a long, long time for it to buffer...
It usually starts with 0% in a small rectangular box, that box didn't even show up. If you slide the tvants box to the right you can see a connection string that usually counts up that also does not move

is your firewall turned off? it could be blocking the channels :? turn it off
It always comes through on zone alarm. Go to the website and you will see you cannot click on sports anymore . you can click on the full list. try clicking on the play button by guangdong sports and see if it works for you.

ok, i have to go very very soon though, it is 23.05 where i am and i need to work tomorrow....but it may just be temporary problem with TV Ants so hopefully when i am away tomorrow, anothe mod can help... ;)

I have also had problems, I cannot get any channel to work. Loike footboy says the % bar wasn't even showing, and it's definately not a firewall issue.
I was under the impression that I had upgraded to the newer version - but i've uninstalled it now anyway and i'm reinstalling right now.

Ok i've reinsalled it, clicked on the link for cctv and after waiting for about 10-15 mins it kicked into life.
I've tried searching for channels(by leaving the search field blank and clicking search)and it cannot find any though. I've even tried putting in random words and channels for it to search and it comes up with nothing.
TVAnts server is down/overloaded, due to the large amount of people that want to watch. Same for PPLive :?

yeah, too many people are using it, servers going down --> no one cam use it anymore .
How long is this going on I cannot even get a signal on channels not showing the world cup. I press play and nothing happens i have added the tracker suggested but absolutely no buffer
adding tracker works --> go to search then --> click CCTV5 or CCTV1
Nothing happens just keeps coming up with no channels exists I have no signal coming through whatsoever. When Iclick play from the channel list it doesn't even change to the chinese writing of the channel. As I said this is happening to non world cup channels
If those are gray with 0 quality --> they're offline.
no, they are the main channels in red like guandong(that shows the world cup) espn english what I am trying to say is that whatever of the main channels I click there is no buffer or signal. Nothing comes up. AllI get is mini tv screen in the tvants box with a number. In the past it has recognized the channel I have clicked and buffered accordingly. This new version is garbage. Perhaps you could try clicking on guandong sports from the websites channel page and see what happens. For about the sixth time I have reinstalled this, and for the sixth time I am experiencing problems which I never had with earlier versions .Any help would be helpful

ok, we are really not sure what has happened in this case, but we will keep trying to help...it appears that Admin is away at the moment, which is a pity, as he is the most experienced in dealing with this. :(
so maybe it is just a temporary problem with TV Ants....it has been crashing a lot lately :?
usually it just doesn't work if you're firewall is turned on, but this case is very, very strange :?

NOT from the main server, but with the tvants2 server there are some channels. The MAIN server has been down in matchtime, so nothing works then :( ONLY THE TVANTS2 Servers works then with 10 channels.
do you mean tracker2.tvants.com If I untick the main server tvants .com and leave tracker ticked will it work
No, you need to understand this :
There are 2 trackers/servers:
Main server : tvants.com
Side server : tvants2.com
Main server has got it own channels
Side server has got it own channels.
Links from the Main server won't work on the side server , links from side server won't work on main server.
So you'd better tick BOTH , go to search --> see which channels there are --> select those channels manually. When you see the main server is also working --> you can use links from our main site also.
Thanks I feel abit more enlightened I noticed they came back when the argentina game finished. But my main problem still remains I cannot get the channels to buffer(even when there is no football showing) In the old version they always used to stream. I am lucky if Iget to 40% it plays for a while then it goes back to 0. My download was from their website. Do you have a better link?

Well the thing is I have reinstalled it about 6 or 7 times from their website and other links . whatever I install I still seem to encounter this buffering problem Which I did not get on older versions. I am getting rather weary reinstalling all the time. I did ty to reinstall from another link tonight but a chinese unavailable page came up
Do you still have an older version? If you install it it might work...
No It just tells you it is out of date and you cannot use it and directs you to the website to update. I did try to use it. but nothing happened

absolutely nothing I did not even get % buffer box It just kept saying running but nothing happened. I cannot even get another download link from another site because the page comes up as unavailable, my present download is direct from the website.

The link from your website along with other down loading sites take me into a blank page. The only place at the moment is tvants website. What do you think I should do regarding the above quote?

no it is not a firewall blocking if you try some of the download links from this and other sites it will take you into an unavailable page/ As I said in quote the megaupload downloaded ok but did not accept it becauseof no dgbhelpdll. that file was originally in the original download. I am going swimming now ,hopefully some of these links will work later if not I will have to reinstall from website Any help would be great see you later.

I managed to download from some site and things are abit better at least I am getting a buffer for non world cup channels Just have to accept that the main ones seem to have overload during the world cup. So I will watch on a different stream. Pcast is good

Yes, i am quite sure it will work after the WC is over........it has just been crashing lately,as millions of peole are watching the same channel, and it cant cope ;)
But we expect it to be back to normal (as it was before) after it has finnished. They will probably bring out a new, stronger one as well, i guess....... ;)

Can somebody help. I have downloaded tvants from various different sites including the official one( Present) I cannot get abuffer or a signal and on the website download I cannot get a channel list in the tvants box. Is there something I should be doing in settings?
It just says praparing channel and nothing happens If I do get abuffer it goes to 15% then fizzles out. Please can anyone assist I am running win 98 se. Never had this problem with earlier versions It just played. Also what has happened to Guandong sports in the web channel page. I have cleaned my computer there are no viruses , have turned zone alarm off but absolutely nothing. Please could anyone point me in the right direction. Some websites I have downloaded from do not have the helpdgb file in them and won't be accepted by my pc. The majority I have downloaded are safely installed ( including the present install from website) I have completely uninstalled older versisons but I am getting no action.

it must be :? i suggest using PCAST (Channel SIPTV) or TVU Player (Channel ABC)
ABC is excellent quality, no buffering or stuttering AT ALL, completely smooth and English commentary, im using it :D ;)
and omly about 30 seconds behind ;)

You did everything already, like shutting down firewall, opening ports, more connections, re-install and other tips given? It's strange, use another program then if you don't get it working.
I did all that I added more servers, But how do you open up ports I am using win 98 se and have zone alarm. Never had this problem on old version . Just used to play.

Thanks but all that stuff about ports is all gobbledy gook to me I just want it to work like it did before on version 10057
