Hi, I am on a pretty small limit of download per month, 3.5GB to be precise. Aprox. how much download is used up watching one game of super 14?
Does anything affect this amount eg. the lower the quality (bitrate I think) the less download it uses?
Lastly, what programs can record the shows you watch, I already know UUSee does, are there any other programs which do this. Also does recording the games increase the amount of download taken up?
Looking forward to your reply,
Tom
Difficult to say :o Don't know what youtube takes from bandwith? Expect the same with justintv and others. :o

Change ISP's.
There are enough out there now touting for your business that you will probably pay the same for unlimited downloads.
Everything you 'watch' will be going against your limit.
3.5GB sucks doesnt it.
you can download a program that measures how much data you transfer i cannot remember the name of it though someone else might

Yeah, I probably use something like that (maybe even more) on a (Satur)day ;).
3.5 is poor. that's just about the size of 1 HD-movie.
Is that a mobile tarrif or what ?

I use bitmeter2. But on a network, it records LAN stuff too, so not as accurate as on a stand alone computer.
Codebox Software - BitMeter II (http://codebox.no-ip.net/controller?page=bitmeter2)
this one is what you need Network Downloads : NetStat Live /// AnalogX (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/nsl.htm)

thanks for the quick replies. Yeah its pretty bad but I don't think my parents will upgrade anytime soon. They'll demand what I need it for other than school...

which beggars the question how old are you ?
your best bet would be to watch only flash streams then and reduce the number of games you watch.
This is in the wrong section anyway, its been put in rugby.

He/She has to imo, even if you would only watch games on weekends, so 4/5 games a month, on flash, you're still going to be over 3.5 G imo ;).

15 years old.
So I will probably have to find another way to watch Super 14 until we upgrade the amount per month. I will ask them tonight.

In the mean time you can check Rugby Union - Scrum.com - Rugby news, live scores, fixtures and results (http://www.scrum.com) which has a minute to minute update.
O2 currently offering unlimited downloads at speeds of up to 8Gb for GBP7.50 if you have an O2 mobile...otherwise a tenner...if your parents won't pay...at that price a Saturday paper round will cover it!!! ;-)
