If you're looking for a keeper, I really don't think you should be looking at players who are going to miss an indeterminate amount of time. 6 months can quite often turn into 7 or 8. Prospal was supposed to start his season for me in December, and he only just played his first game a week ago. You're taking a big shot in the dark with Malkin. A knee injury could significantly reduce his production, and increases the chances he'll miss more time in the future.

Not only that, but with the way Pavelec has been playing the past month, you'd basically be relying on Luongo for all of your goalie points. If you give up Crawford now, you're just screwing yourself this season for a chance that you might have a good player next year.

I didn't realize you guys knew he was injured, but I still don't think this was a good trade for you at all. I definitely see 6 keepers on your roster though. ;)

Why would I take away the hat trick, he scored it! Take away all of Crosby's goals and assists and he doesn't look that great either. :D

What are you talking about?! This is a great deal for the Habs. Sopel isn't an offensive d-man, he's a stay at home d-man. He's also one of the league leaders in blocked shots, and that's always a good thing in front of 3 Smokes.

Maxwell on the other hand has proven he can't do much at the NHL level, and was destined to rot away in Hamilton until his value was so low that nobody would want him.

I think for the price this was a great move for the Habs.

Sopel will bring the shots per game down for sure. Dawes is nothing special, but he's worth about the same as Maxwell, so we basically got Sopel for free. Seriously, this guy is a shot blocking machine!

Hell yeah, I'm disappointed to see him move that much further away from Montreal. I still say he'll demand a trade when he knows he's close to the end, so he can retire in Montreal.
