RWC 2011 Qualification (European Nations Cup)

Hi Folks,

Im just about getting the hang of p2p idea. I know the Portugal v Russia game has been discussed elsewhere but does anyone know about any of the other European Nations Cup games (that affect RWC qualification) coming up in Feb involving Spain, Romaina, Georgia, Germany in addition to Portugal and Russia.

There are some fairly important games coming up for these teams on the 6th, 13th and 27th of Feb and I enjoy seeing "new" nations trying to get into the world cup, especially Portugal going on their last world cup attempts.

Could anyone let me know if these games will be available?

The big problem is that most of these games aren't even televised. There is currently a German private project which streams there game through the Internet. So we can really only look at it one game of a time.

Do you know if there's any website available which list the TV-channels covering these games?

Last year all Romania's games were broadcast by TVR 2 (Romania National Television channel number 2). I guess that this year TVR 2 will show Romania's ENC games. Sadlly TVR 2 is not available online.

Hi rugby fans! Its coming a big weekend for world rugby, with six nations, and no less important european nations cup!
About european nations cup, i thought that Portugal-Russia, the big game of the week, its not broadcasting in portugal, but its not true, will be shown on Sportv3!

Anyway, i watched last year romania-portugal game(unfair victory, but great for us:) ) on a romanian blog, livesport i think, but i have to suply a lot at that time to the owners of the blog to they stream the game!

Just checked TVR schedule and they will show the game on both channels TVR 2 and TVR International on saturday at 13.55 Romania time.

This is an interesting competition. These are the countries we've to rely on if we want to wider the Rugby fanbase. They are still way off the level of the established rugby countries but it's at least a start.

Russia has defeated Namibia and I definable believe this is a team on the move. I wouldn't be surprised if they qualify themselves. I also heard from a Russian friend that at school level they are only allowed to play Olympic sports. After the decision Seven have become Olympic they've started to play it at far more schools over there reaching a huge new audience with this fantastic sport.

Russia invests alot of money in rugby. Most of the preparation is done in Southern Hemisphere and they played many games with teams from Southern Hemisphere.

First two teams from ENC are qualified directly to RWC 2011. The team that finish on 3rd place (Romania or Portugal) have to play 3 play-off games. First game wil be against Lithuania or Ukraine. It will be a single game played on the field of the best ranked team, in this case Romania or Portugal. Second game will be against Tunisia. Again a single game played on the field of the best ranked team acordind to IRB. Finally the last game. Here the 3rd place from ENC will meet the winner of the game Uruguay vs Asia 2 (Kazahstan or Arabian Gulf).

At RWC 2007 Japan was the only country from Asia. The tournament Asia 5 Nations was introduced in 2008.
