Ok guys, come up with the jokes :)
The guy was only hungry at 6 in the morning and wanted to get a quick bite.
:D Love this thread, and here in Wales they call him twp, (stupid in welsh),i think it took great initiative to take the buggy and not walk all the way to the cafe;)

Andy always chooses the quick road and he took whatever vehicle was parked in front of the hotel at 6 in the morning.
Ridiculous enough it turned out that the Hotel didn't had any Tanks at their disposal for visitors but they did had Golf buggies :)

Powell, who is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on March 2, said he took the buggy from outside the team's hotel because he "wanted to get a bar of chocolate and a sandwich" from the service station two miles down the motorway.
"At five o'clock in the morning that [taking a buggy] seemed to be the best option and the golf buggies are always outside the front," he told the Daily Mail. "I didn't think it would do any harm to borrow one for the ride. I picked up a cone and a flashing orange light from the side of the road before I got to the motorway which was even more stupid. I've done stupid things before when I've had too many sherbets but nothing like this."

Probably the golf buggy didn't had any lights and everyone knows it's dangerous to drive without lights in the dark. So he was actually very sensible to take a cone and flashing light to increase visibility.

BTW what is it with Rugby players and golf buggies?
This is Craig Gower's story a couple of years ago:
Gower was fired as Panthers captain in December 2005,[6] after incidents at a charity golf event where he argued with several guests, groped the teenage daughter of former league player Wayne Pearce, chased Pearce's son with a bottle before vomiting on him, streaked around the resort, wrecked a golf cart, held a butter knife [7] to the throat of a Sydney radio personality and threw the knife at resort guests before being kicked out of the function by security.
:D You gotta laugh at these guys,as i said on the fantasy league thread,i'm notoriously bad at predicting,i predicted Powell would get a stern tellin off for this, wrong again taff :o

He should sue the hotel for not preparing a snack, thats why he was forced to look for a burger king.
And that he took a flashlight with him was due to the lack of approbiately lights on the golf cart.

The photos on the Facebook page are pretty funny - especially the one that's a take-off of the 'Invictus' movie poster.

Andy Powell was arrested this morning for driving on the motorway in a golf buggy. When questioned by the police as to why he was there, he replied:
"Officers, My mate's car has broken down so he gave me a call to go help him out!"
The police knew Andy was lying as he's never the first to the breakdown!

As I was posting on here it was on the radio news that Andy has been fined a grand with a 15 month ban from driving.
It did not state whether that was banned from driving buggies/cars/on the M4 or even a rolling maul:)

No license is required for driving buggies so this wouldn't concern him :)

Haha brilliant! His biggest offence has to be playing for the Tigers!
I was in Cardiff with my rugby team for the Scotland game, we saw Powell, Bryne and Halfpenny out in Cardiff, Powell was stumbling all over the place with two jugs of I couldn't even tell you what, but when his incident appeared on the news a lot of boys from my club weren't that surprised the state he was in!

For me he's a real role model. Some day, I too, hope to be able to drive a golf car on the highway.
