View Full Version : Rugby on Directv, is it any good?
I am new to rugby and found out that directv does offer it on the fox soccer plus package but I wonder if they offer many of the games or do they show in HD? I would be willing to pay the extra $$ to get this package if I could find out if it was worth it or not.
Thanks
Larry

I understand that they will show rugby games from Super 14, Magners League and Guiness Premiership.
Have you heard if it will be in HD or not?

The new Fox Sports was born because Setanta USA went off the air. Setanta never had games in HD so I dont think they will start showing them now
The weekends are full of rugby games usually on very late on friday and saturday because of the time difference.

You can check their schedule here: http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/tvschedule
They show some games live and many as live later. Not sure about the HD part though.

I got Fox Soccer and Fox Soccer Plus and they usually show some football (soccer) matches in HD but not Rugby yet. You can always call them and ask.

I don't think many Rugby games are as of yet recorded with HD camera's thus no need to broadcast it in HD.
Ok well thanks for the info everyone.
Fox soccer plus needs to get its channel on more providers ASAP if it doesnt want to end up the same way Setanta did.
I just dont know that what it offers justifies the price at this point
I thought about subscribing to the Fox Soccer Plus but with no HD, times on games not very convenient, and few games available when they do show I decided to wait.
