Hey, i watch a game on new site limev.com yesterday. It lasted whole game and they didnt have onscreen ads ( ithink they are still new), guess they allow us to broadcast copyrighted materials. i search bit about limev.com and find out we can use windows media encoder to broadcast too. have any of you tried there windows media streaming? i really want to try that out but i can only stream one channel on my current uploading speed.

lots of sites tend to buffer when more ppl connect, if yuo guys every try it out msg me.

Yes LIMEV uses ads AdBlockPlus picks up 4 blocked ads.

LIMEV built in channel search is great, but you can manual search to, just change the number at the end.

Looks like a lot of MyP2P streamers are already testing after looking at some of the channel names... ;)

Hey every one, i am new here,

limev 's windows media is amaizing, "freetheworld" you can use it without any problems, I used it for to broadcast yesterday,

but i recomend you use Flash since lot of ppl like that.

I also got banned from this awhile ago, don't remember what it was for though. I think the best platform for streaming on at the moment is **********, I know sometimes you get the RTMP stream not found, but I have had very little takedowns, and they only seem to say your channel is banned after the match ( in my case an EPL game), so allows everyone to see the match, then you can make a new channel. :)

I think it is too easy for the companies to click on the Limev Icon, and Ustream etc, which brings you to the direct link page, which the company can report, but this is not the case with **********, which does not seem to have a clickable logo.

Load of bull dude, first off you signed up here claiming you was just a user of this site and it was amazing, then you suddenly admitted you work for the site.

It can't hold more than a few hundred without alot of lag, why would someone stream off 300kbps? the bitrate you stream off does not affect the viewer numbers, the fact it lags when it's busy is not down to the bitrate the streamer is on, it's down to your cheap ass servers.

Ive seen some bad flash streaming sites, but this one has the feel like a 12yr old is running it from his bedroom.

It's all well and good having different colour skins and having your own logo, but this aint Myspace, as a streamer & a viewer, stability and stable servers is what matters, and on both of these it sucks.

You need better servers.

hey nutjob, we'll be adding more servers to our system soon, usually when there is lots of games played at same time its start to buffer coz lot of users stream different games. Its not a problem with servers we have. we just need to add more server. currently we can support more than 4000 users at a time.

Well, I mostly see black screen now, while audio keeps playing.
Also, you've added advertising and clickable logo to your player, so all the advantages are gone.

You should increase your CDN capacity in order for streamers to keep using your service.

Personally, I will NOT be using limev from now on until something changes.

What I wonna test is the stability of their service before i purchase a bigger package. right now my package can hold 2000 users. I want to buy much bigger package. Before spend too much on CDN service I just want to know quality of their service. Which means, someone have to stream a game which have at least 1000 viewers, so I have confidence when I am purchasing.

I currently have a number of streams on my own FMS, but when I try to republish it on limev it doesn't work.
I know that my setup is good because republishing works with justin and zonein.
I can also stream from FME, but not from FMS.

Can you look into that ?

and "SkyGames " if you tryLimev to broadcast channels on days that US opening was on, we are sorry to say our limit 25000 was exceeded before the match, maybe thats wat couses the loading error. Everthing have a limit (windows media, flash) (also P2P limited by computer hardware and badwidth too). ill try to buy more resources when there is a big game on, its just out of blue, i wasnt expecting that many people for a tennis match.

Hope you enjoy our service.

Flash have less latency, and high quality, and have no add-on that you have to worry about installing.

Got an idea of how the the 'hackers' streamed on my url.

When making a new channel on LimeV, you can create a channel with the excact name of a previous one, this also gives the same Flash Media Encoder details to stream....

Dont know how they did it with ESPA ....

Because not everyone has a chat name or is registered in the chat. Some and the sane ones actually close the chat and just watch the stream.........

So the viewers in chat never reflects the total number of viewers on a site imo;)

no one can hack your stream unless you stop it. Once a flash stream start (a connection devoloped between FMS and FMLE), your channel name is reserved for you, no one can take that channel name unless you stop the stream.

(its a common property all all Flash server like FMIS, red5, wowza, FMSS)

even if they want, only way they can put their ads on the player is editing you html ot php file. If they dont know what is your FTP password and log-in name, its impossible to do that (unless he is hacker) .

(Hackers with a knowladge to change your files with his own warm, can get a highpaid job or they simply hack a site like ESPN or SS ABC)

how is the viwers going to watch it do they have to download /install program like sopcast
or just active x plugin or somthing else
and the video is flash or wmv
where is the servers will be located since it's p2p it should never be under the DMCA hammer and never take a stream down

its not about my site or pop ups , ads etc on limeV player .. , its happening on limeV channels .. when i was broadcasting someone connected to my channel and placed a ''This stream moved to .... website'' logo and my streaming video was disappeared.
thats kind of spam .. maybe there is possibility for using same rtmp by different clients at same time or sort of channel creation bug which allows others to stream from an existing channel ?

ill research about this more, however, once the channel created on a RTMP server, there is no way you can flush it unless you have admin rights. you have to delete current channel in order to stream a video to same channel name.

did this incident occur during a live even or when the channel was offline.

Yesterday, i have 10.000 on my site for "Konferenz Bundesliga" LimeV become down ! :s

If you want to do something well, start by buying a good server for your site ;)

How hell do you spend $260 on web hosting, i pay $5 and only time my site had a mini crash was when i got million hits in one day. Even then only went down for 5 minutes. People need to be smarter with money;)

Thats true, but unless you running Amazon, sky, hbo etc... imo it's wasted money.

These shared hosting are awesome value, well in my case.

I use worria.com for guy who asked, and even dedicated servers ALOT cheaper than the 260 he paying.

They are great value and very reliable. In august

I had close to 120,000 unique visitors in 48hrs, and close to 2.5 million hits, as i say bar a 5minute crash, it was fine.

Considering these flash sites usually handle only a few thousand before lag issues, imo it's a waste of money dedicated servers. Only a sites like Veetle & JTV should stump up for that, as they get millions of viewers weekly.

These flash sites don't even touch the sides, and Alexa says that.

my server can transfer any amount of text (php, html java), its the MySQL that makes server go down
when number of queries increase, server load increase and crash (at least thats what i think)

i am running a dedicated server, shared server MySQL is not enough to support even 2000 concurrent users ( it will definitly crash). Dedicated servers are too expensive but i have to up grade it again to make my site stable.

it depends on how ur website works sometimes shared hosting is enough maybe when ur site i just a couble of simple html pages
embeded player and embeded chat it won't require much resources
but in most cases if u run a script or forum and u get many visitors at same time u will need a dedicated server to handle the load
as example myp2p .

Hi all just been reading the thread through, and i got a few hackings from the site in the images etc etc also (mainly around the europa cup games), i went to his site and kindly asked not to hack my stream again, but this to be a sucess as people above say needs to stop.
I also went to xuuby site today and it gave me the rtmp to the limev server, so to me looks like they are trying to make money from limev server, so i think you need to have a word with simple cdn for help to stop that.
Also i have used servers from this site http://www.highwinds.com/ for a streaming host and it seems pretty good so maybe contact them and see if its for you, maybe it isnt just trying to help.

Just found a way to get rid of the annoying pop up ad on the bottom of the LimeV embedded player, this is what to do.
Example:
- This is the embed code LimeV gives you when creating a channel;

- All you need to do is change " scrolling="no" " to " scrolling="yes"

This will make the player look like,

but when the ads attempts to pop up it just flashes on and off.

This site could be very good, i used it for the Golf, never got closed, and mostly stable, but is clear it struggles with large numbers, if you could get a very large server that handles busy days like the Football on it, it could be very good. So increase your server capacity.

right now im confused what to stream with zonein , rtmp or limev . limev is best in terms of quialty but the ads are just annoying and so are the zonein ads
rtmp you get same quialty as zonien btu no ads

if you could fix the server and ads limev would be a clear winner i just hate the 468x60 ads are just annoying appear every 10 seconds

use your existing limev channel at busy times cos limev website and channel creation getting stuck,

it was good for me at the earliar game azerbaijan v turkey .. i had two channels at this game , one of two was just showing in the encoder , not embeded anywhere and other one was on the site for the viewers.. and the one with the viewers got RIP after first 45 mins, other stream was fine there.

Veemi was better today

i didn't get any error messages yet, but noticed that LimeV player acting like its offline sometimes, while the stream status connected in FME , it should be a server side issue between the involuntary disconnection and reconnections such as

Primary - Network Status: NetConnection.Connect.Closed status
Primary - Disconnected
Primary - Re-establishing connection, attempt 1
Primary - Reconnected

otherwise its working as usual..

btw how are the things going with LimeV ? , hope it could be stay up for the weekend games ;)

Ye, the LimeV player is acting like there isnt a stream to it while FME is streaming PERFECT,

Well EVERYTIME i go to create a channel it takes like 10 minutes to load the page.#

btw i noticed a message at the bottom of the browser bar when limev player was busy and loading it was like trying to connect to boxlive etc..

what are u talking about ? you still didn't fix the stream hack issue .. i am not going to use this crap anymore till you fix it , limeV player is not loading at busy times as well which means our streams couldn't be listed in myp2p schedule .. once you fix you can reply back.
