i love the idea of bringing back the polls.

guess my answer? the big three from boston looked a lot more committed. anyone who watched their first games could see that, although the way there were going to play doc's system and their harmony was not totally figured out, they were willing to die for a trophy. I didn't see the same type of urgency from south beach, particularly from bosh.

The Bucks need to continue the effort they displayed in their last game against Boston. With 3 winnable games beginning tonight @ Indiana, then hosting Nola and then the Knicks, it would put them at .500 for the season. Due to injuries, no chemistry and some bad officiating, Milwaukee has only one victorory in the win column (1-4), so these next three games are criticle.

Unforunatley tonights game isn't broadcast locally for those of you wondering.

He will never be the playmaker Lebron is, but he has less than half the time Lebron has in the NBA and he is already more mature (talking about his contract extension on Twitter instead of making a 1 hour special, getting Sefalosha and Kristic on the cover of SI) and has more killer instinct. As for the poll... I've been a LIFE long Miami Heat fan (insert boos and hisses here, that's weird to get used to) so I had to go LeBron. However, I would have checked off D-Wade if he was there (why no love?). I know he is older than the rest (except for my boy Kobe who reps for us 30's guys) but he is still such a monster. He did unbelievable stuff with the franchise before Shaq, during Shaq's time and was really saddled w/a THIN roster afterward. I love his game and really think he will be up for MVP this year. I just think he'll get overlooked again because people will attribute his success in part to LeBron.

Durant is a prototypical BALLER and a HUGE talent. Wall is going to be an absolute stud. Rose is superb (anyone see that dunk last night?!?). As for the rest, honorable mentions IMO. We are in a resurgence age of basketball though... so on that note THANKS AGAIN FOR THIS SITE!

I haven't seen anything that tells me he can't do that, but even if he can't, thats a very small piece of creating plays for others and he'd have plenty of other tools to get others involved. And no, I have a strong feeling he is told to take every pull up jumper that he can (because he's so good at it) because if he's not taking those shots he's hurting his team, which in a way is true on the OKC team with inexperienced shooters and especially inconsistent long range shooters. They aren't really a spread team, and its a problem when Durant is the only real threat to shoot 3's , can't really get an assist passing to himself.

+/- is how the score has changed when the player was on the court...
e.g. players switches in when team loses by 5, and he swithes out when it wins by 7. so his +/- stat is 12 :D

horrible memory. the only game kobe saved us with that great three pointer should have been lost as well. it was a difficult time for kobe back there (was on court a lot, ego probs with team, no chemistry at all). but that made him the guy he is today. so bad and good feeling some years after that now. and we took 2 more since then. you? ;) :P

Earvin “Magic” Johnson retired from the NBA after disclosing that he had tested positive for the HIV virus. Johnson, who helped lead the Lakers to five NBA titles in his 12 seasons with the team, retired as the league’s all-time leader in career assists with 9,921. The assist mark was later surpassed by Utah’s John Stockton. Johnson returned as an active player for 32 games during the 1995-96 season.

With five assists in Detroit’s 89-87 road win at Indiana, Isiah Thomas became only the third guard in NBA history (along with Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson) to pass the 8,000 career assist mark. Utah’s John Stockton joined this exclusive club on February 23, 1993 with seven assists during a loss to Houston.
