I downloaded the new Streamtorrent 1.078, and after 10 mins or so watching a game, it crashes and disappears. The Player seems better in this edition, not having the buffering problem of 1.077 version

I have read as much as I could on the front page and went to all the necessary links

I didn't have this problem last year with ST 1.075, however since then i have installed new Hard Drive and had to re-install XP

I can't understand why ST is so jittery and falls off. I have unintall and re-install on several occasions using both Revo Uninstaller or CCleaner, making sure the registry is cleaned out too. I have re-installed fresh copy of Windows Player 11 too

The only thing I haven't tampered with are Winsock, as i don't have any problems with connections or any of my browsers or any other program relating to viewing videos, films or video content.......its just this StreamTorrent client that falls off, i had the same with 1.077 but not as regularly, though the problem was mainly with the ST Player. (buffering & not playing)

Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, there is really no harm in running the winsock fix then, just to see.

Cant really see it been Winsock, more like a wmp issue in some form or another...?

Do you think i should download the old StreamTorrent that was used last year? was it 1.075?

It can't be a Winsock issue, everyhting i have works just fine relating to browsers and video streaming. i.e YouTube would not work otherwise

Oh should i unistall WMP 11 again, and make sure the registry is cleared too.....and then re-install?

Could try the Stream Torrent NE edition. It's based on the 075 build without the date issue. Also, no need to uninstall 078 as the NE edition is installed into its own folder. I still have the NE on another pc & just got around to uninstalling the old 075 on it the other day.

Yeah, missed that part in your post. Thought you said before that you were having some other connection issues with something.

Can't hurt as I imagine at this point you're getting somewhat frustrated. Uninstall, run ccleaner, re-boot, rerun ccleaner in case something was still in use, then reinstall.

Also, was it you that posted some dll file as being a possible culprit in another thread? If so, maybe repost it here if this stuff doesn't solve the issue.

Tried everything tonight - Streamtorrent just keeps falling over

Installed and uninstalled wmp 11 and ST till i'm blue in the face! Tried ST 1.075, 1.075 NE, 1.077 and 1.078

the Windows error box i get is this

AppName : streamtorrent.exe AppVer.1.0.01 ModName: ntdll.dll

ModVer. 5.1.2600.3520 Offset : 00018af2

Yeah, that was the one you posted. Just did a google search on it (ntdll.dll) & got lot's of stuff including this article: http://ezinearticles.com/?Learn-How-to-Troubleshoot-Faulting-Module-ntdll.dll-Error&id=4464553

And naturally, everybody & their brother wants to sell you a program to fix it. I know this company is reputable: http://www.reimage.com/lp/dll-errors/ntdll.php?tracking=gasearch&banner=ntdll_us&adgroup=ntdll.dll&ads_name=T1&keyword=ntdll.dll but most likely other options/solutions are available. Could run their free scan anyhow & see what it finds.

What i'm getting now using 1.078...is that with Firefox and Opera, the ST program collapses, whilst with IE 7 i get the ST player that falls down, but ST program remains steady

"collapses?" "falls down?" great descriptions!
you might be able to get some help if you told us what was actually happening. (or at least tell us what you mean by "collapses.")
