Having probs with Afreeca
When I press the big blue button, the Afreeca app starts but then I get a box come up in gobblygook (I presume Korean) with a yes or cancel button.
Pressing both closes the app only difference yes opens a window in Internet Explorer.
Tried reinstalling but tha hasn't helped.
Any ideas
Same promlem....... what happens??? Can somebody help??
You maybe need to allow a file? checking it now...
Afreeca seems to be "****ed up" now:
They ask you to pay, or that's what I understand , it's about 8€ , or 10.000 pin. I don't understand a f**k of it, so I'm also looking to solve it now...

Does everybody have this problem?
Yes, everyone with an " abroad" account I guess. I mailed afreeca about it, hopefully they want to solve it, otherwise we need to find a solution around it
Simply:-)...foreign address ban!

So far so good!but let's try to get around.
So if we use a Korean IP/DNS it will probably work???
If anyone finds a DNS server from Korea, please post it..
You can start the player when you press the green button after loggin in. But i don't know where to start searching a channel. Maybe it helps a litle bit by solving the problem.
The green one is the Afreeca streaming program. You can't do anything with it, only streaming :(
But you can't get the normal program to work then, it still asks for a yes/no ...

So far I have inderstood 2 things: when you try to login, they catch your IP address and Mac address using 2 scripts.
I change my ip to korean using proxy but it does not help. Then I change my Mac address using Smac but it does not help either. I used what I think was a korean mac which they have it in the program itself. I jut don't know if the mac addresses have a specific range for the different countries? How can I find korean mac addresses?
What i have not done yet is to try to login in Afreeca with korean Ip and mac address at the same time. I will tell you later if it works. You can try too.
Admin, what do you mean korean DNS server? Is it the same like korean IP?
They best way to solve the problem will be if someone understands from program codes and scripts. Then he can check what's the deal in the checking scripts that Afreeca use!
later
Yeah, that's true. DNS , Name server, the same as with the PPLive to watch all Sports channels: then it works.
So it might work to start Afreeca...
I guess it isn't that easy to get around the scripts, but let's hope someone knows it ...:)

I don;t think they would ever give it , rrs are a sort of ID numbers, like an official passport .. Doubt they will give it to you :P

There's a keygen that generates a Korean resident registration number, i used it to make a korean account, and it worked, but still couldn't load afreeca because they check your ip.

How do they check my IP. When I use proxy and then check my Ip from different sites all of them shows that I have korean Ip address. But afreeca still won't let me in.
The problem is not in the korean residental number. I used one for my registration and I still canno enter.
oh shit.... now i just hope somebody finds a way to use it :)

You tried it with DNS already? Like we do with PPLive to watch all channels, it might be the solution for Afreeca also.
Korean DNS needed...

Well, I as I said I used korean proxy servers , plus I change my mac address but still no results. I cannot change my DNS.Even when I use korean IP my dns remains the same.
Explaim me what have you done to watch all channels in PPLIVE?

I don't think changing the DNS server the way you did with PPLIVE will help with Afreeca.
Anyway, what I did was I found the names of the major internet providers in Korea. Them I tried to find their DNS server. But when change my dns server with them I still cannot succeed opening afreeca player.
I know for sure they are checking the IP , so what this has to do with changing the DNS?

I have not tried with all the DNS I have found but I doubt it they will help.
I have no idea of scripts but if someone have we can try to download them so we finally can have some results. I believe the scripts are written in english coz if they are in korean we are f..... up.
I still cannot uderstand why the korean proxies don't work. I have entered chinese sites that are only for domestic IP when I use chinese proxy.
What other information they can catch from users who try to login: IP, DNS, MAC , Korean residental number....?
By the way I am still thinking about the mac address!!! I did the following: I used this site:http://www.coffer.com/mac_find/?string=korea from where I can take the first 6 digits from the korean modem manufacturas( or I think that what it is). Then I just made the rest of the digits. Plus, I am still not sure if the MAC ADDRESSES are in spesific range for the different countries.
I think the solution is somewhere here around the mac address coz the afreeca abroad page opens just when URLhelper shows me something like this:
http://live.pdbox.co.kr:8057/app/index.php?control=collect_addr&szMac=**-**-**-**-**-**(mac address)
So I really want to try cnanging my MAC to a real existing address. That's my only hope for now!!!
C'mon help

GOOD NEWS!!! I SEE AFREECA!!!
After my last post I went to work and I start thinking and thinking.... and I remembered that when you try to login in afreeca it start loading the player and then pops up the message that redirects you to the "abroad" page. So, this mean that not the webpage but the player itself detects your IP address. This basically mean that using use proxy in your web browser won't help but if you make the afreeca player to work with korean IP address it sould success to load.
So, we need to find a program that can make different application to work with proxy servers. I am not quite familiar with such softwares and I searched google. As far as I understood programs called CCPROXY and SOCKCAP are supposed to do that. I have not tried them yet but I tried one called PROXIFIER and I succeed to run Afreeca player. The problem it is a paid software and you have to find crack for it..
Anyway, here is basically what I have done:
1.Download a trial version of proxifier : http://www.download.com/Proxifier/3000-2155_4-10339404.html?tag=pdp_prod Install it.
2. You need a korean proxy. There are a lot of sites that update daily proxies from different countries. I used http://nntime.com/index.php?psearch=korea . Some of the Ip works some does not .You gotta try till you find a working one. I used 124.54.71.6:8080
3. Run Proxifier. Open Proxy settings from the menu and "add" a working korean proxy.
I have checked protocol HHTP but it might work with socks 4 and 5 too ( I will try them too but I have no idea what they are) .
Then I have checked "appears as Internet explorer 6". Moaybe will work even if it is not cheked.
4. Log in to afreeca.co.kr and click the blue button. You are supposed to open the player.
The speed might be low because of the poxy but you can disable it from proxifier once you have open the player. I don't know if it continue to use the proxy or it start using you real ip. If the last, you gotta see Afreeca just like you use to see it before they made the restrictions.
I will keep experimenting with the other two programs. If someone understand more of what them let give us any advise.
GOOD LUCK and post your results

update: If you manage to open afreeca with proxifier it will load very slow. Disable the proxy but don't close proxifier. After I do it afreeca work very good for me.
Fantastic, I will test it out also, this deserves a sticky :D
It works, putting it on MYP2P now :D
Big thanks , you deserve a statue :D

The only annoying thing will be the finding of Korean proxies but that's the only solution now.
By the way how is your speed when you open afreeca? Do you desible the proxy after it opens?
Yes, I open it with Proxy , then I stop the proxy but I can't open a stream then. We need for sure to find a stable proxy server/ip ...
New problem : you need to use a proxy server also if you want to watch the Afreeca program :( So to watch channels, a proxy is also needed :o

I check for fresh proxies at this site: http://www.samair.ru/proxy/fresh-proxy-list.htm
There a always some korean proxies but, you know, like every open proxy they die soon.
Admin, are you sure when you disable the proxy from Proxifier you cannot open streams. I think afreeca check the IP just once and when the player is opened you can get back to your normal IP.
DONT'T CLOSE Proxifier. Just disable the proxu from it and leave it open.
Tell me if you secceed!
Hm, I will try that again. Normally I close proxifier, but I will try disabling the proxy , trying it now :P
Got it working for a minute, but it threw me out if it then :P Was just running fine for a while , after diabling the proxy and just watching it :P
I will try some things again, but the hardest stuff is a right proxy. We need a very fast one...
No problems here. After Afreeca loads, I can safely disable the proxy and watch the stream. I had it on for like 10 hours yesterday (that's 1,7GB of traffic).
I agree, however, that finding a working proxy is a pain in the butt.

DO NOT SEE THE LIST OF THE AFREECA CHANNELS AS I CAN RESOLVE THE PROBLEM?
Might be due to a slow proxy, gulliver :(

It is due to a slow proxy. That's why you have to disable it .As a matther of fact when I disable it, it kicks me out in a minute. You still have the same problem Admin?
I don't know how Triglav managed to watch for 10 hours?
Yes, I still get the kicking out after a few minutes.
Triglav, can you tell us how to watch it for a long time?
Heh, no idea. I just doesn't kick me out after I disable the proxy and I can even switch channels. SOMETIMES it kicks me out after 10 or 30 minutes, but sometimes it doesn't.

How about you admin? Still kicks?
We have to figure out if they check the Ip after the player has started. But I doubt it. If is so, the question is if they check it rendomly or every 5, 10 whatever minutes.
I have noticed that just before they made the changes with the korean IP afreeca kicked me out a lot. I think that's some bug that soon will be fixed. Have anybody else has been kicked few days before the changes?
Before everything ran fine, I can't find a good proxy now and I'm very busy with all kind of stuff, but I will try soon again :)

I'm running Afreeca for at least 20 minutes without it kicks me out. I don't know if I am just lucky or because I did some staff.
I think that afreeca still check the Ip from time to time. So we have to find way to kinda ping to the their server and show them that we still have korean Ip.Or whatever is called, somehow to keep the proxy connection alive form time to time.
May be I did something completely wrong and unusefull but I donwloaded this program : http://www.simplefailover.com/outbox/ietimeout-se.exe. It has something to do with the keep alive setting of the dns or whatver. I am not quite sure. I just run it with the setting it comes with. It put something in the windows regestries. Then in Internet Explorer/Options/advance settings/htt1 setting I checked the one that says to use proxy with it. I am also not sure what is for.
But this are the two things I have done and I watch afreeca now after I disable the proxy. Maybe on the next try it will fail but you can try and tell me if this method works.
Now it works for me with the old method : Loading it with proxy, then disable the proxy , and I can watch (already for 3 minutes). I will keep it running to check for how long...
After selecting another stream after it without proxy it runs superb...

Hm, maybe everything i did was not of use. It will be better if it runs with just the old method.
If the method I described stops working again, I will try yours ofcourse ;)

The proxy is the big problem. I can't find a list of decent proxy's. I only have the one Kardinal provided and i can't establish a connection with that one.
If someone could find a few decent proxy's and post them we may be able to use Proxifier to get around the IP problem.

They are using an IP filter i think and hence Afreeca is no longer available for overseas users.
