The pressure for Real is only there, if Barça wins today. Otherwise things are back what they were a week ago...

According to www.fcbarcelona.cat lineup is Víctor Valdés - Oleguer, Thuram, Milito, Abidal - Edmilson, Xavi, Iniesta - Giovani, Messi, Henry. Kanouté is back with Sevilla. Will be a tough match at the No. 7 of La Liga!

Well, they've cracked the defensive code there and safe-cracker Eidur comes out with the lovely stethoscopes and the twinkling little fingers and he undoes them. He's a cat-burglar on this goal, Phil. He steals in with stealth...

Ray Hudson, former football player for Newcastle and Fort Lauderdale Strikers and now co-commentator for GOL TV, is one of the most entertaining football commentarors. He once called Milans Gennaro Gattuso "tyrannosaurus rex with hemorrhoids" - we missed him for weeks now - and I miss him just at this moment.

No doubt that Real will win against Valladolid tomorrow. We must come back very very different! Safer at the defense and more dangerous at front. It feels good with Rafa Marquez and Ronie in now.

this season will be a disaster once again. La liga is lost anyway, away matches in La Romareda and Vincente Calderon wont run any better probably and then Madrids lead will be in double figures. Valencia will save their season in Copa del Rey and Champions League is over against the first top class opponents if we should pass Celtic. But this should give the chance for a total restart in summer after everybody realize dream team 2 doesnt exist anymore. With new coach and without some players from former dream team 2 who bring nothing nowadays, maybe we'll see watchable away games performances, effective play over the wings and senseful starting and tactical line ups in 08/09 once in a while again.

Nothing lost yet, good second half of the blaugrana - the equalizer is almost reachable and defense is a lot safer now.

I disagree, I tend to be rather pessimistic, but Real Madrid is far from being sovereign leader of la liga. Next week we have Eto'o and Yaya Toure back and Messi will be in better shape than first half today. There are still 13 matches and 39 points to win.

Ronaldinho's lost it... something about his football is missing and I think its just a lack of desire.

To put it simply. I dare say its boredom. He would have took this game and made it a one man show 3 years ago.

Anyways, another beautiful saturday ending with a goltv barca coverage. I have enjoyed my saturday and I hope everyone else did.

Pichichi, where are you ?

Watched the match elsewhere tonight, as opposed to with you lot, but I'm dead chuffed that the streams were a success and that some of you even got sprinkled with Ray Hudsen's stardust. And well, dap, the match largely set the tone for a festive Saturday night: it was a cracker of a match, yet one that Sevilla really should have had in the bag on 45 minutes....but, as so often happens with them, there was a decided lack of discipline, especially into the deeper reaches of the 90. It's this sort of unfocused temperament that lost the Analucian wizards a better go at the title last year. In tonight's match they also betrayed a lack of finishing skill when it came to the avalanche of chances they had in the first half. Even so, kudos to Valdés for workmanlike skill in deflecting a lot of those, yet with a more professional performance, the Jiménez boys could have won this by three-nil or more. That said, Barça were, while not the better side over the whole stretch, certainly the more disciplined, professional, and clever one. As such they overcame the loss of nine players and some dodgy performances (most especially by Ronaldinho who, I agree with dapxin, seems to lack all desire for the game this season). Aided by some fortuitous refereeing and by the brilliant Xavi, they pulled one back. Will it be enough to catch Madrid? I'm not convinced. With upcoming away matches to Zaragoza and Atlético - fixtures where more points could easily be dropped if Xavi doesn't score in the final minutes - things don't look easy-peasy for Barça. Moreover, come Sunday there could be fewer points between them and both Espanyol and Villarreal than in the gap that separates them from Madrid. That certainly makes things tense, tight and turbulent at the top of the table. For the most part, I agree with taumelloch's comments above; I've said here before that Barcelona just aren't on this year, and the reason, for me, is mostly to do with a lack of unity, an instability in roles, as well as with an excess of politics and rumours. They are, at present, less than the sum of their very talented parts. But - they are still capable of a lot. Madrid continue to have a good hold on pole position, yet no matter what the points and the gossip columns say, I think the show is far from over. Were Sevilla more diligent, they could easily be part of the mix. Sadly, it's not the case. Sadly, because their style of football is, at times, a nearly unstoppable and exceedingly entertaining rush. And Diego Capel is its most exciting exponent. What a player! In the final analysis, Barcelona's keeper gave his side the opportunity to come back, and Xavi made it happen...again. He's truly the leader of this club now - both in terms of how he carries himself and in the way he plays - especially when it counts. Fitting, then, his captaincy today. Still, Diego Capel...wow...a bit like Messi, that one, but without that dodgy fondness for using his hands, of course... ;)
