hey gunny,

sounds good from you!! :) i think we have many nascar fans here in europe and many more country out there from europe! for the races. i think the craftman truck series comming again also last year on "wheels - speed channel" in TVUplayer. the nationswide (former busch) Races comming again on the nascar website! for the sprint cup (former nextel cup) is it many times hard to find links for the race! the first leg from the season comming i think again on FOX! but the races after FOX is really hard....hard to find working ESPN, TNT and ABC links.

the nextel cup switched places/sites frequently.. from the now defunct fox steam at tvu, from te defunct site of embedded.. to various people picking up the dime.. and nascar.com had a few of the races even

Hi Gunnyhud,

i am a member of another forum which was setup after emdedded shut down midlle of last season. The forum was setup purely so its members could discuss where to watch an online stream of Nascar. you would be surprised how many people there out there who cannot watch any other way.
As of right now we do not have a regular stream so i would say there are 300 members of that forum who would greatly appreciate your services.
As far as we can make out, no-one is providing this stream on a regular basis at the moment

We would all really appreciate if you could stream some races for us.. the Cup races are most important.. the

other Nascar series we can get either from tvu or direct from Nascar.

we have been looking for a regular streamer for a couple of months now, so it would be really great if you could help

us out with this.. ps i would say most of our members are already members here (like me), and of course we are

happy to go whever the streams take us :)

i'm a member of a forum which streamed Nascar last season, start streaming it and i,ll be here whenever i can to watch the most exciting motorsport in the world. I think there are loads of Nascar fans in the U.K. getting ready for the season starting in February so lets hope it happens.

I,m a member of martin14 merry band of nascar followers and can confirm that there are many uk based fans that welcome any streaming of nascar.Being a virgin media customer we did not get any live covorage of the nextel cup last year and it seems the same this year.Cant wait for the Bud shootout.

Trouble is I don't think a lot of theose 22 people lurk here right now and would know to come and vote here. Actually I thought that lowering the bitrate will help the people with slow connections to "catch up". But I'm no expert so you do as you see fit.

I'm in Bulgaria and believe it or not internet service here is top notch. Just last week I watched the NFL division finals on Viasat on a 1000kbs stream. So the buffering tonight makes no sense. The other reason I thought about lowering the bitrate is that compared to most of the NFL streams during the season this is very clear and high quality. This is good offcourse but maybe there are more users with bad connection than we think. I truly don't know. There are some times the stream gets stable and a lot of times it buffers like crazy.

Do Grand-Am not realise that the Rolex 24 does actually have an audience outside the US? I'd have paid the $10 or whatever for a live stream if they actually offered one. Seems like a missed opportunity on their part.

not only that.. but the best part of these 24 hour races are in the night time when they have to use their headlights! at least that's my favorite part of le mans, the track and cars look awesome at night! and to replace it with shows like "pinks" "unique whips", etc?? these aren't even live racing events!

It's the same story with speed though, anything that isn't NASCAR usually gets second rate coverage. I suppose in some ways its a good thing, otherwise I'd have been up all night!

At least Speed showed most of the race, Eurosport have been terrible with their coverage this year. Hope it goes to Motors TV next year.

looks like sky have got NASCAR in england,just seen ad for bud shoot-out live next sunday at 1-30 am...have to check and see if they are doing all season sky have a 2year deal with NASCAR from 08 for 38 cup races

Yes..for UK and ROI SKY has the exclusive live rights to broadcast all races live for 2008/2009...I`m in Germany and Premiere only show the Daytona-500 live and only Highlights from all other races...I hate Premiere for doing this, because there is no other channel for the Live Sprint-Cup rights in Germany..and there is still no official comment from ABMoteurs :-(

Would be super to have a Sprint-Cup live stream..maybe someone can help me to get a SKY Sport subscription..I have followed the last 2 seasons live and now it looks like there will only be the Daytona-500 live on Premiere.

I am a big fan of motorsport in general and had already signed a pay-tv-contract to watch the NASCAR Cup Series again but the provider Premiere spoiled the fun by canceling their promised live-coverage. So any live stream of those races would be awesome!

Using VLC for SopCast streams
All SopCast streams can be viewed with VLC, but for some streams it is mandatory. VLC can also be a "quick fix" option worth trying if a stream buffers but won't load correctly.

To use VLC...
Download VLC at http://www.videolan.org and install it.
Start the SopCast stream and let it buffer.
VLC, go to Open Network Stream, select "HTTP" option, and type in 127.0.0.1:8902 (If port 8902 doesn't work, try 8912).
You MUST leave SopCast running; closing SopCast closes the stream.
You may need to mute the sound on SopCast so it doesn't bleed with the sound in VLC.
To make VLC a default external player on SopCast 2.0.4, visit this thread. (http://forum2.myp2p.eu/showthread.php?t=11734)

Using Windows Vista? Can't click on a link and load it?
Right-click on the link and select "Copy".
Go to the SopCast address bar and paste the link.
OR, hover the mouse on the link, and the SopCast channel URL will appear in the browser status bar at the bottom of the URL. Type that URL into the SopCast address bar.

I am located in Europe and last night I tried both your SopCast- and the TVants-stream. The SopCast-stream worked but paused too often (if that green thing on the right side of SopCast is a quality-indicator: it was about 75 most of the time but sometimes dropped into the 50s or so). Otherwise picture was ok, not as good as Wheels on TVU for example, but ok on a small TV. However the sound could be a little bit better, it had a big amount of compression-distortion in it. Trying the TVants-stream only gave me a news programm or something like that in very good quality but no NASCAR could be seen!!!

All in all I stopped watching after trying for an hour, because of the interruptions on the SopCast stream.

Good to hear that you are trying to optimize the streaming. Let's hope TVU will work better. By the way I think the Gatorade Duels are broadcasted on Speed so that event is on TVU anyway so no need for you to set up a stream I think. But you could use the Duels for testing of course. If you do setup a stream during the Duels for testing purposes let us now so we can try it and give feedback.

Sorry, I didn't know you were talking about my TVU since I never mentioned that one (the TVU mentioned was someone else's) but my TVU is only used if I can't stream to SOP. I guess I should word that a little differently in my sig.

sorry for the take down - I lowered the bitrate some as there are obviously folks with lower connections trying to watch (I think from another site) which were giving scary low QC#'s in SOP.

It should be back up now as I only had it down for about 10 secs.

A whopping 200 on video (down from 250).. Total is now 223k down from 275k and STILL low #'s in SOP :(

I guess we're going to need to get word out to the race fans same as we did w/hockey.

I am getting exactly the same QC#'s @223k as I did @275k. QC in the 60's with this where with hockey it's usually right around 90.. QS=100 for both.

Of course a lot is going to depend on the weather for this race, but a realistic time would be approximately 4-5 hours. As for the server time, I am sure you could figure that out :D

I figured it out, I was only joking :P

But it is a little strange for a NASCAR noob like me. Formula 1, the most popular motor sport here in Portugal (and in all Europe, I believe), the rain doesn't matter. But I understand that NASCAR and Formula 1 are a little different. :)

Wenn du Vista benutzt geht das nicht mit einfach auf den Link klicken. Du mußt den Link in die Adress-Zeile von Sopcas einfügen und dann auf den Pfeil daneben klicken und der Stream fängt an zu laufen. FAQ lesen hilft ;)
