Your Welcome Yes it is. I found it a while back and was meaning to ask you about the possibility of creating our own tracker.

Unsure to be honest, but you need some good upload speed if you make it public. You can also use it for yourself.

It's very important feature for me. Maybe someone knows the DB structure (what tables are used by TVAnts)?

No, that is not true, you don't need to have a big upload bandwidth.

Is the first post still up to date/correct about how to create one?

Actually you need a decent amount of speed. It's pretty much a basic information server, but if you have a lot of channels which in turn have a lot of viewers you have to supply each viewer with the information on the channel.

Don't see why it wouldn't be. There hasn't been any updates to TVAnts since the guide was written, except for the yearly update which is quite lame.

list.tvants.com is hosted on a 1Mbit upload connection, and it worked fine til the chinese firewall tried to block it, that's why I am making mirrors and tests to solve the matter.

You should not need a really big connection. You should only need for whatever channel you plan to run. I block US and UK IP addresses to avoid stay out of legal hot water, copyright-wise, and creating my own server, and putting BeeThink on it to block US and UK IP addresses, I think the 1 meg upload connection I have should do it, since I am only broadcasting at 340K, and the peers that connect should carry all the needed bandwidth.

Here is something interesting about the Chinese firewall blocking stuff. On Sopcast, I can go through a Chinese VPN service, and I will not be blocked from streaming anything on Sopcast, but the Chinese firewall does block the Sopcast website itself. That is odd they would block the Sopcast website itself, but not block anyone from streaming on the Sopcast app.

I have had a chance to finally test my own TVAnts tracker, using my Android phone with TetherNow, on another computer. I do my own streaming on my own TVAnts tracker, so I can block USA IP addresses, and keep out of legal hot water with the USA (being that the Yanks think they rule the entire world).

First, when it comes to proxies, which some people have tried to use to circumvent the geoblocking, most proxies will not work. This is because while the HTTP to get the special geoblocked webpage will come through the proxy, the TVAnts protocol is a seperate protocol and will not traverse any kind of proxy, other than a VPN. TVants, Sopcast, and Flash streams cannot traverse any proxy other than a VPN.

Second, when it comes to browsers, I have found that a webpage with an embedded TVAnts player will not work with Firefox. This is becuase it uses ActiveX code that only works on Internet explorer.
