Standout memories, good one`s that is, of Arshavin`s time with us not exactly ten-a-penny. The 4 against Pool and the corker against Barca spring to mind. As Tony said, he never seemed to fit in. Let`s hope Gervinho and the Ox can stay injury-free for the remainder of the season otherwise, this was a move that could have waited til the summer. Still, it`s not as tho our calendar is clogged-up with pesky cup games eh?

How about this Craig Whyte fella selling off Rangers 14 shares in Arsenal to Usmanov? A piece of history for an amount Tevez earns in a week. Might have offered them to the AST if he needs the money that bad. What a cnut!

A word for Walcott yesterday. He was quite bad in the first half but still contributed to the first goal with the little flick he set up RvP (who hit the post) He should have done better when he wrongly chose to square it to RvP when he could have had a run at the defence but in the second half he was great. Good thing for me was that despite the fans being on his back most of the first half he carried on and didn't let his head go down and was rewarded.

I know a few of you guys don't like him, and indeed now that Arshavin has gone he seems set to become the new scapegoat but in a better team he would be ripping defences apart. At the moment Opposition defenses know that if you keep Walcott quiet you'll shut down a large part of our attack. Just look at how different his game went when he was given time and space in the second half when Spurs were concentrating on getting a goal. Now imagine him in an Arsenal team who offerred more up front than just get it to Van Persie.

Don't get me wrong, there is still room for improvement, His decision making is often awful and often he can frustrate but he's still young and he still has plenty of time to improve, and, imo the talent to do it. I stand by my comment that we'd regret it if he went elsewhere.

Lately it`s been a rollercoaster ride being a Gooner. Fans of all teams have their moments of joy and despair. When you hit rocky times, bemoaning the state of affairs from the boardroom, manager to the players is the natural reaction and being a Gooner is no different. In our case we are moaning at a very high level. Worrying about not reaching the Champions League for the 16th season running whilst being heckled by idiots about lack of silverware, which we were in kissing distance of on many occasions, is .... well, it itches, for us. For them it`s like watching you shag Jennifer Aniston 16hrs long and wonder if it`ll ever end. Personally I´m enjoying the ride. Yesterday, under the circumstances, was up there with beating Barca, and not many teams can say that. Makes you want more...

The new stadium has obviously penned us back. The sponsorship is meagre. We have been a selling club. The war chest was never that big. We are giving average players top wages. The impact of non-CLeague won`t be too bad if we don`t reach 4th. If we don`t reach 4th the impact would be pretty bad because the fans are paying top prices. Whether the FFP rule influences any of our good foundation work would be debatable considering the tax-breaks on community investment leverages, etc. It will be better for us when the sponsorship deals run out in 2014 and the costs of running a top 4 side be passed to the corporates and not the fans.

In the other city boulevard, Express, they used the fact that the guy`d been in London in December as an indicator, even tho it was for an advertising shoot. At 10 a.m. I was told 18mil had been agreed between the clubs. 3 hours later it was up to 23mil! I think they need the headlines cos they know he`s leaving. Humbug & Hogwash...

Podolski failed at Bayern Munich 2006-09 because he needs total emotional support by the coach and has to be the sole star of the club to feel good
Daddy Wenger is surely not the manager to bring him to a top performance
