So, Wenger confirms the Giroud transfer. Arseblognews I mean the fact that He even talked about him is evidence that it's a done deal!
Good signing and another sign we're not leaving it until the last minute.
A lot of strikers for wenger. What is he gonna play?? The 1-1-8?? RVP is going out, don't see how this move will prevent him from doing that...

Good stuff, get a DMF in and get Theo, RvP & Songs contracts sorted and I'll be happy with the summer dealings, and the team for next season.
There has been some disappointing news overnight about the fitness of Jack Wilshere, with the Sunday Mirror reporting the midfielder isn't expected to play again until mid September.
I sincerely hope this lad is not another Diaby.
Walnut...Theo's situation needs to be resolved this summer. All the indications are is that he wants to stay at Arsenal. But his people pulling out of contract talks with Arsenal last autumn is not a good sign.
He should thank his lucky stars he is still with us, I wouldn't be too unhappy if he left, never rated him lots of speed one dimensional thinking, opposition players know how to play against him, he is not the star he thinks he is, (or his agent) so if he is offered a new contract he should grab it with both hands, I don't know about holding out for a wage increase the way he has been playing he should be giving some of his wages back. 1 good game 10 poor games.

Balls
While it doesn't necesarilly mean he's leaving I can't see any point in him staying. And there is certainly no way he can carry on as captain. I really hope he doesn't go to City.
Even if he honors the final year of his contract, it will be difficult for him to remain focused in the second half of the season. He'll be allowed to talk to other clubs and the speculation will be far greater than even this past season. Then, once he's agreed terms with another club, how is he going to stay commited to fighting for Arsenal when he'll be just going through the motions until he joins whoever.
The thing is, with only Man City and Juventus interested, we'll never get enough money for him to buy a striker of the same quality or number of goals. And i really think we would need to replace him with a tried and tested premier league striker, otherwise it puts way too much pressure on Giroud and podolski. Darren Bent anyone?

Arsenal won't get the money they deserve for him if they sell because Clubs will know they can get him for free next year.
Would hope he'd want to go abroad and not face his old club 2+ times a season!
You are fookin g joking right? if he doesn't want to stay then he should be sold now, he is never going to give the 100% in his last few months, he should also loose the captains armband. I was hoping he would stay after Arsenal has stuck with him through his sickness trials and tribulations but he disappointed me there. I honestly thought he would have put pen to paper, he is another one who thinks perhaps he is bigger than the club, news for you Robin your not. What a way to start a new season.............a captain who does not want to stay with the club, how is that going to be received by the other players who are willing to give there all for the club.
We are basically in the same bloody position as when Fabregas wanted to leave, he said that he only wanted to go to Barca so we had no real bargaining position at all really.,
Now that RvP has shafted us the same thing is going to happen as what happened with Fab by RVP telling the whole world and his wife that he is not going to sign Arsenal will have to take what they can get for him. The twat could have kept quiet about not wanting to sign and then we could have perhaps got a decent fee for him. But why should I be surprised this is modern day football, thought you were worth more that that RvP.

It's funny, for the new season I was planning on getting to as many games as I could afford, sing my heart out to support my team and carry on being loyal to the club which has brought me so many good memories in my life. This news has totally changed my plans, now I plan to get to as many games as I can afford, sing my heart out to support my team and carry on being loyal to the club which has brought me so many good memories in my life.
Always remember Arsenal wasn't formed in 2004, it was formed in 1886, it was here long before egotistical players and will be here long after. Good luck and goodbye to him if (when) he leaves.

I would like to see the money we get from selling him reinvested in an attacking midfielder, yes Jack could potentially fill this void, but we don't know when he will be fit, ( please not another Diaby) he has been out a long time and will need a lot of time to get started so we don't know what to expect from his level of play. All is not lost, I doubt very much that he will have the success anywhere that he had with us last season. Spend the money we get from him and move on life is too short, he could have left in a more agreeable way if he wanted but its obvious that he wants out now, City here he comes, he can join the other numptys.

The most important thing now is to get him sold. I don't care if he's released this statement because he wants to leave, wants more money or genuinely does want improvements to the squad (and I think we all know which one it is,) he's shown his true colours. Get him out of the club now, I don't want him to go to City but if that's the best deal for us then go for it, As Arseblogger put it:
If you've not read it already, and I assume most of you have, Arsebloggers current blog is well worth reading....let’s put Robin on the market and choose the deal which best suits Arsenal. Not Robin van Persie. He’s no longer important and we have no obligation to consider him or his desires in any decision we make.
