Still got it! Oh to have someone of his class at the club again.
Perhaps we could sign him again

......................What Wenger won't do is strip van P€r$i€ of the captaincy. That will just weaken Arsenal's bargaining position and if no one meets Arsenal's valuation for him, he'll have to stay at the club.

I don't expect him to be captain next season even if he does stay. Thomas Vermaelen, as last season's vice-captain, has already inherited the role in my view and will lead the side in Asia.

    .......and so it begins

Van Persie won't be Captain next season, because he won't be here next season. What is most annoying about this situation is that when we do inevitably accept an offer and he goes he will, just like Cesc did, get a big fat "loyalty bonus" because he didn't (officially) ask for a transfer. This is despite the statement he released and (again, just like Cesc) refusing to play (on the Asia tour.)

Somebody made an interesting point on Twitter last night, that out of Cesc, Nasri and RvP only one of them has left in a semi-respectful way, and he's the one Arsenal fans despise. Cesc and now RvP have both refused to play, which imo makes them both bigger c**** than Nasri ever was. Both dressed their excuses up in "loving and respecting the club" and both did things which left the club in weaker positions negotiations wise.

As far as I'm concerned, RvP can f*** off asap. I don't care where and I don't care how, just get rid of him now. We were due for dropping out of the top 4 when Viera left, same when Henry left, then we were due for relegation when Cesc and Nasri left, same last year, yet here we are, still in the CL and still riding relatively high.

Players come and go. Arsenal Abides.

Spot on, I am more disappointed than angry, he is full of sh1te, all that I love Arsenal bollocks then to drop the bombshell he did was the act of a first class wanker. The sooner he goes the better for the moral of the team, we need to sort out the captains jobs as well ASAP.

Spot on with the Van Persie not being at yours next season mossy, here's an Arsene Wenger piece clearly wrapping your prized possession in cotton wool. Also adding to your driving up the price theory.

We have the same issue with rat boy at our place, I feel the same as you mate. Get as much as we can, as soon as we can, so we can concentrate on moving on.

You have to ask yourself though, how long can Wenger continue being a yes man for the c*nts upstairs? he has done amazing things over the years whilst selling all your best players and bringing through kids, surely he deserves a bit better than that?
In my opinion he is a very loyal man, if I had his ability I would have walked a many a year ago...

    Vermaelen to be Arsenal captain

It has been announced by Arsene Wenger while speaking to Arsenal Player that centreback Thomas Vermaelen will captain the side in Robin van Persie’s absence while the club are on tour in Asia.
Vermaelen is Arsenal’s current vice captain, a position he was given at the start of the 2011-12 season. He had previously captained Arsenal during the Emirates Cup of 2010-11 as Fabregas, Almunia and Van Persie were absent from the squad.
The Belgian signed for Arsenal in 2009 and has cemented himself as a fans favourite with his no-nonsense approach on the pitch as well as proving himself as a goal threat, having already scored 13 goals for the club despite playing as a centreback.
Vermaelen will lead the team in three friendlies during the Asian tour with the glamour tie of the tour being the match against Manchester City which will take place in the Beijing National Stadium on July 27th.
It is likely should van Persie leave during the summer, as is expected, that Vermealen will be promoted to captain permanently.

    ARSENAL FC
Bye bye Bendtner: £7.5m-rated Arsenal striker Nicklas set for Emirates exit
After loan spells at Birmingham and Sunderland, AC Milan and Galatasary are now lining up bids for the striker

Nicklas Bendtner is set to leave Arsenal this week.

The 24-year-old Danish striker is a target for both AC Milan and Galatasaray and he will cost around £7.5 million.

Bendtner has become increasingly frustrated at his failure to establish himself as a regular first team player at Arsenal where he arrived eight years ago from Boldklub Copenhagen.

He has been loaned out twice to Birmingham and to Sunderland and has now decided that his future is away from The Emirates.

Bendtner recently hit the headlines when he was fined £80,000 by UEFA for displaying sponsored underwear during the match against Portugal in the Euro finals in the summer.

His departure is the first of four potential transfers and his move would free-up money for manager Arsene Wenger to add to his squad.

Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski have already arrived for combined fees of £25 million - and the next target for Wenger could be attacking midfield player Santiago Cazorla from Malaga.

Wenger was keen to sign the 27-year-old Spanish international from Villarreal a year ago.

But Cazorla opted for Malaga in a £17.5million deal. But Malaga have now hit severe financial problems and Wenger is considering a renewed approach and could get him at a cut-price £10 million.

Also available for sale at Arsenal are Morroccan striker Marouane Chamakh and Russian front man Andrey Arshavin. Chamakh is wanted by Turkish club Besiktas on loan while Zenit St Petersburg are poised to make Arshavin a permanent signing after a successful loan spell last season.

Fulham have been linked with a move for Welsh international Aaron Ramsey.

But one player set to extend his stay is England winger Theo Walcott.

Walcott has one year left on his contract and initial talks reached deadlock.

But negotiations have resumed since his return to training and the club are optimistic agreement can be reached to add three more years to his Arsenal career.

I hope he is going, I wish him luck though.

Arsenal will test Malaga’s determination to keep hold of their key players by placing a €20million bid for Spanish winger Santi Cazorla over the next few weeks.

What a load of old rubbish, the media must be getting desperate putting this sh1te out

Don't know about the price quoted but apparently we're interested in him, so looks like this story has legs. I don't know much about him, but there's a theory he could be being looked at as a replacement for Theo if he doesn't sign, so, again, this could have come from the club in an effort to force Theos hand and give the club a better hand in negotiating a new contract.

Onto brighter things this is absolutely fantastic news. Arguably our best player last year and fully deserving of his new contract. Would like to see them sort out Theo and Songs contracts now, sort out any new signings to be made and get rid of RvP asap so we get a good amount of time to prepare for the new season.

I think Arsenal should make RVP see out his contact at the gooners. His goals and getting into the CL next season would be more important then any transfer free that you might get in the short term. Really upset with the whole thing as a football fan as Arsenal has stuck by him though the ban injury times and he has one good season an he wants to leave. No loyalty really left in football. Sad but true.

In case there's any interest for it, the Malaysia friendly is on Arseplayer (for members obv.) now, also on ESPN and there's plenty of streams up for it. I only mention it here because there doesn't seem much point creating a thread for it now.

The Guardian: Spain winger Santi Cazorla has agreed terms to join Arsenal and leave Málaga this summer. Arsène Wenger is keen to sign Cazorla, whom he monitored last summer, and he is hopeful that an offer of €20m (£15.6m) can close the deal with a basic agreement in place with the player.

This is great news. I don`t intend to be a Theo-thumper, but we all know he hasn`t improved as we`d hoped and is yet now angling for the mega-bucks deal that Arsenal cannot afford. I don`t know much about him but, shit, he plays ( sometimes ) for Spain, and from what I`ve read I`m thinking along the Limpar lines. Now let`s close this deal for Cazorla, whether it be as a replacement or a mentor. He should work well with Arteta and another older head would be good for the team. Coming on the back of our 2 center back contracts and the 2 new strikers, this is turning into quite a good summer after all.

Dampner; I guess if this goes through we can forget about splashing-out on Llorente.

Theo Walcott has warned Arsenal it will be the size of the club's ambition, not his pay packet, that decides whether he will renew his contract this season..........................................'I hope to win many titles as I want to be remembered after retirement. I want to show my children and grandchildren what a good player I was , well you need to pull yur finger out then and be more consistent.

Good run out for the lads today then, not much point in over-analysing a pre-season game. Diaby was good though faded. Eisfeld's goal was very nicely taken and there were spells where we played some lovely stuff. Not much more to say really

Arsene Wenger is furious with the Football Association over Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong's tweet charge.
It will be interesting to see what the gutless wankers the FA do about John Terry.
