Yes, I have the latest version of Sopcast, along with the latest K-Lite codecs pack installed on my computer. I've just tried to uninstall, then reinstall Sopcast, but it's still not working!

    Arghhhhh!!
How about if you switch the stream to VLC...?

I have a slight problem with my sopcast player.

If I click on a sopcast link on wiziwig page, (or just direct through sopcast icon), for whatever I want to watch, it dosn't go directly to that very link.
Instead, the sopcast home page appears with the last channel I watched on sopcast in the address bar, and I have to manually replace the last name in the address bar before I get to watch.
I think this is due to myself playing around with buttons on the player, and I've no idea what I've done to put it into this mode. Before this happened, I would get the channel representing the link I clicked on.
I've un-installed and re-installed. Still the same. I'm also on the latest 3.4.8 version... (Does this all make sense?)

Basically: I visit wiziwig to find an English sopcast link. The sopcast links have names instead of channel numbers. If I enter the name, YES or M&M1 for example I get a small grey box that says, 'channel is off line'. The player only pops out and starts to load if only I put the channel number in the address bar.

If anyone understands this, and can advise on what I have to do to reverse this problem, it would be appreciated. I know some channel numbers to some names, but others I don't. So without channel numbers, some are inaccessible for me.

    If I'm right there's not that much to do about. Try this for now;

    *Start Sopcast manually

    *Go to our schedule pages

*Copy the link manually (right mouse on the PLAY link --> copy the url location/copy hyperlink with sop://)

*Put it on top in the sopcast adress bar

*Press enter/the blue white arrow , and the channel will start

Then you can get all channels to work, and enjoy all streams. It's a workaround. You can only try reinstalling to see if it get's fixed by that in the end, or maybe cleaning some registry files. But unsure if that works.

Thanks admin. Just tried your method on a poker link. It seemed to work........ Except the channel is offline, lol.

Dosn't seem to be another sopcast link to anything else for about an hour, so I'll try that method again tomorrow. It does appear to be the solution, as the 'channel off line' message was on the player and not in a grey box. So that's encouraging!

Once again, Thanks for your help!!!

Edit... Yep this definately works. Thanks.

Does the window version have any command line switches?

Basically I run XBMC and VLC and wish to just send a URL to Sopcast which I can do easily already by just doing "sopcast sop://....." and it opens said channel.

But does sopcast.exe have command line arguments to run hidden or others?

Also, is there any version of sp-sc-auth for Windows?

Can you open your own source locally in WMP, and does it work then?

What bitrate are you streaming at? And what is your upload speed?

You will need an upload of at least 2Mb in order to broadcast a 600kb stream

With that upload. the most you could stream is 300k. That explains why your audience was reporting failure..... you were not uploading enough data for them to retrieve

Yes you can indeed have this problem. Some channels only use VLC codecs. A fast guide can be found here: http://forum.wiziwig.eu/threads/5768-Sopcast-with-VLC

Or you can Download VLC first, see http://www.wiziwig.tv/softwareitem.p...&part=software . Install it and start VLC. To open a Sopcast channel yet in VLC: Open file --> network stream --> select http --> 127.0.0.1:8902 (the end can change to 8912 or 8903) and don't forget to press ok.. Now it will work, so if you've got this Black screen error just open it in VLC
