Oh really.....there is no problem ???

You are correct if you have a super-fast upload bandwidth of at least twice the bitrate of the highest rated stream, but, if not, you may not suffer, but every other person in the network will have a poor viewing experience because you were a leech, and the streams may well die altogether.

I have a broadband conection with download speed 42.34 Mb/s and upload 49.77 Mb/s. We have 16 computers on the network and nobody has problems while I'm runing two Sopcast instances.

Indeed, as I said, if you have the bandwidth.

But IMO it is irresponsible to simply say that it works, when most people on this board do not have that sort of bandwidth. This thread is meant to help people with problems, not to suggest things that, for most of them, will actually cause additional problems.

Just wanted to say that works. Everyone is free to try. It was not my idea to cause additinal problems. And what problems can apears when you run two instances of sopcast?

In Costa Rica with a less than par connection, getting around .83 mbps. Trying to view some playoff hockey and there was a Sopcast stream up that was listed as 685kbps. But when opened it would only buffer to 25-30% at most and I was unable to view it. Any suggestions on how to squeeze the absolute max out of my connection? Thanks and thanks again to all the streamers and admins

It might just be too high for your internet speed, have you tried a lower bitrate stream? Maybe a 300k? Does that work better?

Ya the lower bitrate streams work perfectly, there just aren't any Sopcast or ST streams using a low bitrate. And with the whole JTV thing, I'm just looking for any option that would allow me to see the Sabres in the playoffs. Thanks for the response though, if nothing shows up here I'll sift through Ustream and Freedocast and post my findings for those that are sharing the same dilema. GO SABRES!!!!!!!!

True, maybe the higher bitrate works better this night for the NHL, just try it. You can always use other streams of course, but you never know if it might be all fine today

its just the site, must be a problem listing them or server down, check here to see - http://www.sopcast.com/chlist.xml

But the actual streams are still working if you know their sop:// address.

@pusi: already told you many times, that channels come and go. The specific channel you're talking about only worked once, after that it had tunisian channels.

Especially pay channels only show up for specific sport events, its useless to request those as 24/7 links. Just keep checking our schedules and sometimes you see some listed which show Sky

Seems like the sop tracker had some issues but fine again here right now!
