I just switched from Ubuntu 11.10 to Xubuntu 11.10 and I can't get ST to work now. I tried both the "no other software needed" new way, and the "install all this microsoft bull crap" old way. In both instances all i can get from ST is the icon in the panel, which is black and white and not connected. The window for the program doesn't even come up.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

hi guys. im writing to you looking for some help. as i read here upgrading your ubuntu system did not hurt streamtorrent work, but cant say it about myself. I have upgrade ubuntu 11.4 to 11.10 and when im trying to turn on streamtorrent i endlessly got a message "net state NOT CONNECTED". with the previous Ubuntu version streamtorrent worked as a charm. but in a new one doesnt. I tried to reinstall wine 1.3 and it helped nothing. the same issue with streamtorrent i experienced in a new Lubuntu version 11.10. where's the catch guys? what dont I see here? looking forward to see your help cause i just cant help myself.

Any way we can get the original post edited to include Dead Man Walking's instructions? This is very helpful but it's pretty buried way down on page 5. Thanks for all the help!

I'm having trouble getting streams to play in ST. I run Wine 1.4 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. ST installed & opens fine, I add channels & everything looks fine but channels just won't play. I've got some print screens of what I'm dealing with but seeing I don't have enough posts I can't post them.. the URL is at the end though. Anyhow, everything looks good but under the "Progress" tab it lists all channels as Stopped. When I try to "Open in player" it gives me the error message, "The following 1 unsupported file(s) couldn't be opened."

Anyone have any ideas? I apologize if this has been dealt with before but I looked through the whole post & while I found some similar questions (mostly from years ago), I didn't see any solutions. Sorry if I missed it.

Right now I am trying to watch the Braves game, but I'm having a problem with StreamTorrent. It is showing the red x cross on the StreamTorrent icon. When I was using streamtorrent on Monday, there was no x icon and it was working fine. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
