    You might have noticed this on the main site on matches with sopcast links;

    "Sopcast seems to have some issues with connecting: if not working then try again to connect, otherwise use flash!"

    Best to just keep trying, normally it's fine again in a few days.

    Sad story, Sop Cast has been by far the best software to watch european Soccer (in Asia at least) for the last few years, and for the last few weeks I have the same problem. And I am afraid this is wrong: "...normally it's fine again in a few days."

    When you write "otherwise use flash!", you mean the other stations that the list shows as transmitting via flash only, or, are you saying sopcast can be received directly with flash?

    One more thing: I can receive the chinese channels CCTV with Sopcast, some of the european ones usually in the beginning of a transmission for about an hour. The the rate keeps going down and it gets unwatchable. Sometimes another (from .WS) of the sopcast channels starts connecting, but today after an hour nothing worked any longer... Thank God one of the flash broadcasts worked, many times none of those can be received in Asia.

    In another post (page 1) peer guard is mentioned. What is it? Where is it? How should it be set?

    Thanks, for your great work and for the forum.... TDV

    The problem is the games showing European football are far more popular, and so the load on the servers is that much greater. When Sopcast have server issues there's not a lot we can do about it.

    Of course sopcast has indeed been the best p2p to watch football on for a number of years. It's also been free all that time too.

    Yes, 'otherwise use flash' means watch the game on a flash website from our listings. It can't directly receive Sopcast; Websop is a sop plug in embedded in a web page (like flash) but I'm not sure if that still works, and most Sopcast channels aren't on a websop page anyway.

    Peer Guard is an anonymizer that keeps your IP safe when you are using p2p programs (whether Sop, bittorrent, etc). It is of questionable value, and isn't any use in helping with these problems anyway.

    Question Chinese only problem

    Same problem here. If I start Sopcast and log in with an account, I can click on the Chinese channels and they work, for example CCTV-11. But other channels from the "live channels" list don't, for example Eurosport: I get the "Can not access Sopcast service..." message. Neither did any stream work that I tried to start from the wiziwig web page. So I figure my installation and network settings are all fine but the problem must be on the other side, the server.

    The only explanation I can think of is that clients are blocked by the server. I wonder whether it is just some clients or all of them and if just some whether this is maybe based on geographic location. I am located in Germany. Does it still work for others in Germany? Europe? Where are other people with this "Chinese-only-problem" are located?

    regards, Beerenobst

    Basically if the sop address starts with sop://211.152.36.38:3912/XXXX then you can view but with anything like sop://95.211.111.66:3912/XXXX you cant ive just test from here - http://channel.sopcast.cn/cn/channel/

    Certainly looks this way. Will we start seeing a mass migration from Sopcast to another service?

    Guys it's not geo blocking, it's everyone that's affected. Also doesn't seem likely that Sopcast are blocking deliberately, it's a server issue.
