Traore's current employers Cluj have confirmed initial discussions have already taken place with the Gunners and they have told the Premier League side of their asking price.

Club president Iuliu Muresan added: "We have had contact from Arsenal but we have not received a concrete offer yet.

"Four million euros is close to the amount we are seeking."

OFFICIAL : Liverpool Sign Maxi Rodriguez From Atletico Madrid On Three And A Half Year Deal

Liverpool have completed the signing of Atletico Madrid midfielder Maxi Rodriguez on a free transfer, the club has confirmed on their official website.

The 29-year-old Argentine winger has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at the club after completing a medical on Merseyside today, and the move will be confirmed subject to international clearance.

Rodriguez, who was at Anfield to watch the Reds' FA Cup Third Round replay with Reading on Wednesday night, will wear the number 17 shirt at Anfield, and could be available to make his debut against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium this weekend.

The move will please Reds boss Rafa Benitez, as the Spaniard looks to strengthen his squad following a stuttering start to the season.

Rodriguez, who can play on either wing or through the middle, will add competition to the right-wing position usually occupied by Dirk Kuyt, and is known to enjoy a strong relationship with both Javier Mascherano - his international captain with Argentina - and Fernando Torres - an ex-teammate at Atleti.

Official: Manchester City Agree To Loan Robinho To Santos For Six Months

Manchester City have today confirmed that Robinho will be leaving the club to join Brazilian outfit Santos on a six-month loan deal.

A statement on the club's official website reads:

"The club can confirm that it has reached agreement with Santos for Robinho to join them on a six-month loan. The agreement takes immediate effect and ends on August 4.

"Santos will assume all of the player's contract terms, including wages and bonuses. Robinho will travel to Brazil on Sunday to begin his loan period."

City boss Roberto Mancini, who stated last week that he would have liked the player to stay and fight for a place in the team, hoped that the move would work out for Robinho.

"Robinho is someone who needs to be playing regularly and we wish him well for the period of his loan," he said.

The Brazilian international joined the Citizens on the first day of the summer transfer window in 2008. He was the first major signing of the Sheikh Mansour era at Eastlands, costing a British record fee of £32.5 million from Real Madrid.

He scored 15 goals for the Sky Blues last season but has often been the target of criticism for a perceived lack of effort, especially away from the City of Manchester Stadium.

    So far, so good .

In the meantime we also loaned out Jo (from Everton/Man City?), and G2S from the Spurs. If the rumors are true, we may also be looking for another striker, but they have to hurry if they still wanna sign someone.

Manchester City Run Out Of Time After Agreeing €18 Million Deal With Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago

According to fresh reports in Spain this evening, Manchester City got as far as agreeing a fee for Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago before they ran out of time.

With the transfer window slamming shut at 5pm, Manchester City officials were said to be frantically attempting to finalise the deal but were eventually beaten by the clock.

According to reports in Spanish daily Marca, City agreed an €18 million fee for the midfielder but could not complete the deal until they had an official agreement from club chairman Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who they could not reach in time.

The Blancos originally decided not to sell Fernando Gago due to concerns over numbers in personnel, however City’s millions are said to have finally enticed the Real Madrid directors to let Gago go.

It was very busy day for Manchester City officials who were also reportedly in Italy attempting to seal a deal for Parma midfielder McDonald Mariga, however the Kenyan midfielder signed for Inter instead.

    Official: Canales To Madrid

Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of young Racing star Sergio Canales.

The Blancos have been hot on the trail of the youngster since he shot to prominence at the end of last year and have been in discussions with Racing over the finer details of a transfer for over a week now.

An official statement on RealMadrid.com read:

“Real Madrid C.F. and Racing de Santander have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Sergio Canales Madrazo.

The contract, which will link the player to Real Madrid CF over the next six seasons, will come into force from July 1, 2010.”

Madrid daily Marca reports that the deal is worth €5 million and Canales will join up with the Blancos for pre-season training before returning to Racing where he will spend next season on loan.

However, if Real are suitably impressed with the midfielder during pre-season training, they have the option to cancel the loan agreement in return for an additional fee.
