Welcome
First of all, thank you for your interest in streaming mlb games! The more the merrier!
This post is intended to be a catch all for all of those who, like myself, love watching games online with the crowd here in the MLB section at Myp2p and want to give back to our community by streaming games from their hometown team or otherwise.
Our community overwhelmingly uses Stream Torrent for its Quality, Ease of Use and Low Bandwidth Requirements.
To get started streaming you will want to check out the following links:
Using A TV Capture (Tuner)Card
Broadcast your own channel (Guide + Info)
Guide I used to setup my Windows Media Encoder for a Tuner that you are told to use in the STREAMER guide:
http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/1...-Media-Encoder
Update: Should still be WME9 here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Guide to screen capture streaming from the Web with WME:

Update: Google vhscrcap no watermark or check this out: http://multiboxing.com/forums/f2/res...mark-3030.html
Once the stream is created in WME, then you need to get it into streamTorrent. This well written Guide and the Notice tell you how:
[Guide] Broadcasting on StreamTorrent. ...and... Important notice to Streamers
Choosing your method of Capture and Gear you need to get started.
You can screen capture mlb.tv and broadcast that through Stream Torrent or capture through a Tuner Card.
There are 2 ways to capture tv feeds to your pc with a tuner, the USB tuner and the card tuner.
USB tuners are portable, cheaper cost, easier to break and take up room outside of your machine.
Card tuners and not portable, more expensive, harder to break and take up room inside of your machine.
Here are some good examples of what you might buy:
USB tuner card
Internal PCI express Card
To help us to help you,
post the following information in one reply to this thread (or create your own) so we can better work with you:
Go to http://www.speedtest.net and get your upload and download speeds.
Post the specs of your PC:
CPU, RAM, Method of Capture i.e. USB tuner, Card Tuner, Screen Capture from the Web.
(From Mac) : To be able stream on P2P, you need to have upload bandwidth at least 3 times your stream bitrate. i.e For a 150k stream, your upload should be at least 450k
Notes from FT
Be sure to click the Free Port button dozens of times until it gets past 1400 or manually enter a number between 20001 and 64999. Do NOT use default ports 1080 or 8080. This is very important as your new stream needs a seperate distinct port.
You'll select this option when you're setting up WME. It's in "output". Or... "Broadcasting Options" in the Wizard.
(fyi... the port # determines the stream's web address. Anything else you might change will not.)
ok so if it's a 141k stream... then...
You'll select this option in "compression". Or... "encoding options" in the Wizard.
Select scroll menu for "video" > Multiple Bit Rate
Select scroll menu for "audio" > Multiple Bit Rate
uncheck 282k... Select 148k
for a 240k stream...
Select scroll menu for "video" > VHS Quality
Select scroll menu for "audio" > Multiple Bit Rate
uncheck 300k... Select 244k.
for a 300k or 400k stream...
Select scroll menu for "video" > VHS Quality
Select scroll menu for "audio" > CD Quality
Select 300k... or Select 400k.. but not both.
then you can keep going to enter your stream name, description, etc.
this can always be editted or updated at anytime(while not streaming).
My advice is to save the settings asap. Go to file > save as > (I use stream name/bit rate)
You can save to your desktop for easy startup every day.
After you setup stream torrent, it will then be just 2 clicks to a flowing stream. Pretty easy, right!?
Thanks:
ft420, Big Mac, Numbuh_16, anonymous_coward, Dead_Man_Walking and all the streamers on MyP2P!

I think the only thing that doesn't apply much any more is the 320X240 thing as most sources are now 16:9, so I just have them tick same as input to get them started.

when i try to stream at full-size, i.e. 640x480, i have the same problem: CPU goes straight to 100% and can't keep up! when i drop the size a bit--say, 440x330--the CPU drops down to 80-90% and my frame-rate stabilizes.
