nope. yao will miss 20 games, ariza will be second in the league in turnovers, martin will continue his volume shooting, and brooks will continue to be the very definition of inconsistent

Since it's already monday in some parts of the world, lets move on.

Based on these stats, who is your MVP, considering player 1 and 2 won the game, and player 3 lost it.

    Player 1 - 46 Points, 4 Rebounds, 6 Assists, 1 Steal, 0 Blocks, 2 Fouls, 2 Turnovers, 45 Minutes, 44% FG.
    Player 2 - 28 Points, 10 Rebounds, 14 Assists, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 3 Fouls, 4 Turnovers, 40 Minutes, 56% FG.
    Player 3 - 62 Points, 21 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 0 Steals, 8 Blocks, 2 Fouls, 0 Turnovers, 46 Minutes, 62% FG.

player 3, such monster stats just cant be overlooked

    @perk and talley

the rockets won with a worse roster and an over 20 games injured yao 53 games in 08/09
the combo of ariza martin and brooks is going to be deadly for the opponents if they try to double yao. 3 balls all day long
with yao being out, b.miller will do a good job. he's a chemistry guy, at least i hope so
and don't forget about our top 3 bench!!
    we will see

still the rox are in the position to make a big trade this season

Player 3. Anyone putting up those type of numbers with 0 turnovers is an absolute beast.

    Easy for me as well.

Winning the game with a triple double, making team mates better = MVP.

Player 3 with those monster stats yeah but didnt win.........MVP should be in correlation to winning (except for in Dirk's case, lol).......always hate how the award is given out so early in the playoffs.

Should atleast wait until half way the 2nd round or even conference finals.

player one could be nearly every starting-five-nba-player.those guys are so good at basketball that almost everyone could have such a magical night--so no mvp indication for me
player two is nasty---mvp type material for sure.
player three is a legend--so anything else than being named mvp would be a huge disrespect.

player 3 is a freakin entity but player two should be the mvp...you have to reward winning...no matter how much you score...what important is that your team wins at end of game!

    Easy choice for me...
Player 2...most valuable means to me also making teamates better and that his team will win the game as well...

yeah. i wanted to say player 3 but then i remembered that wilt could put those numbers (maybe not the 0 turnovers) and still not be mvp, while russell got worst stats yet was usually the most valuable.

    So number 2!

If you could change one rule in the NBA, what would it be?

I'll go first. There should be backcourt violation on an inbound after a time-out is called.

get rid of the mid-level exception and get rid of any early termination option.those things are already leading to overpaying average players plus it gives no security for really building a team for years.
in game i would not change any rule...maybe travelling should be enforced more often but as the nba is all about entertainment i dont think it will happen

Not enough information. Also is it actually MVP or "Player of the Game"? Was it a blow out? Did any of this trio hit big shot after big shot? Or was it street ball? Did one team win by 40 points? If I watched the game I could tell you in a milli second who was POG, but with just stat line to go off of, I obstain from answering. Although 62/21/8 is just too rediculous.

I feel the same. I wouldn't change any "court rule" but I'd get rid of all those exceptions and tricks on the salary cap - bird rights, exceptions, trade exceptions, restrictions to trades involving teams over the cap - and raise the cap. It would be simple, fair and square.
