Default Veetle and Stream Torrent issues

    Hello,

I've just recently discovered this wonderful site, so I'd first off like to thank the streamers and people that make this all possible.

However, I'm having trouble with Veetle and Stream Torrent dropping my internet connection; all flash streams are fine. With both Veetle and Stream Torrent, I can watch NFL games for about five minutes before my connection drops. I then have to reboot the comp and then the connection is restored. I've been searching both on these forums and the general web, but as of yet have not found a solution. So, I was wondering if anyone has a solution that worked for them or can direct me to a thread/solution that I missed.

    Info:
    OS: Windows 7
Browser: Opera 10.62 (tried Firefox and had the same problem with Veetle)
    Connection: ~50down/~2.5up/~100ping

Let me know if any other info would help, and thank you in advance!

It's still possible that it's a defective hardware issue like a bad modem or router. "Supposedly", Comcast stopped p2p upload throttling when they implemented their 250gb total bandwidth usage per month limit. If they send you a notice for going over the limit, you will either have to cancel your account with them or upgrade to their business class, which has no limits, if you go over the limit again after the warning.

Thanks for the info, guys. I recently bought a modem (Motorola SB6120) so I don't have to pay $5 a month to Comcast to lease one, so hopefully a reset works since I can't return it to Comcast. Though I could possibly swap it for a new one at Best Buy, if this would be considered a defective or broken item. Anyway, I'll report back on my findings. Thanks again!

If you still have the same issue. You might try implementing the connections patch listed in the Stream thread's 1st post, "Essentials".
    Raise the number to 500.
Also, you wote you are using opera. Use Internet Explorer or Firefox. Again... stated in the streaming thread's first post, "Essentials".

An update for anyone interested (I did get it working):

I tried all the Windows 7 fixes and it extended the period I could watch from 5 to about 20 minutes, but then created the same dropped connection. I then went to Ubuntu and tried implementing Stream Torrent in there with no luck, as seemed to happen to a few other people in one of the other threads on this forum. I was disappointed and frustrated at this point.

However, I did remember that Windows 7 has a Virtual PC/XP mode that creates a complete XP environment within Windows 7 (much like Virtualbox). In XP mode, I simply installed Stream Torrent and got the latest version of Windows Media Player, and presto, it worked! Don't know why it works in XP mode but not in Windows 7's normal environment, but I thought I'd share in case anyone else was having issues.

Thanks again to all the streamers!

I have yet to be able to get ST to work myself, although Veetle always works fine for me.
