The 1983 NFL Draft

Who remembers this draft and all the hype preceding it? Where will John Elway go? Will he sign with Steinbrenner and be a Yankee? After all, Elway said he would refuse to sign with the Colts if they draft him with the number one pick. Bradshaw called him what! This video is three hours and nine minutes, and contains the entire first round and some of the second. A side story throughout the first round is the question, "How come nobody has taken Marino yet?" Of course theres always the Jets fans unhappy with their pick like in every other draft. Six quarterbacks were taken in the first round which is why this draft is known as the greatest QB draft of all time.

Comments - The audio had alot of problems. The right channel was missing all together so the left audio channel was converted to mono and then back to two channel so sound would be available for both channels. The volume was increased 12 db to bring it to a normal level. There was alot of noise not usually found in a VHS capture probably caused by severe degradation of the source tape, approximately 95% of which was removed without degradation of the sound. As far as the video goes, because of probable tape degradation the video was cropped and is now quite watchable. Oh yea, Check out young Chris Berman!
