Enjoy every minute of it gooners, you know I would be doing the same if the boot was on the other foot! but also consider.
Although you may say this has been the 'worse Arsenal' side in many years, we too have had our fair share of trouble throughout the season.
First the saga with Modric and his lack of belief, then dramatically finding it, Harry having his health troubles, Harry and his 'wonky' court case and to top it all, Crapello leaving and derailing our season thus further...not a bad place to be 1 point behind your lot after all that!

I for one am highly looking forward to our league campaign next season, the massive situation for us is the one that happens in Munich. If Chelsea pull it off, who knows what the season holds. If Bayern pull it off, then we will be right on the case again next season...should be a cracker!

    Well done again goons...

I found this on another site, both inspirational and hilarious to say the least!

A Spurs fan guide to... the Champions League final

You didn't want it. I didn't want it. But we got it. Finishing 4th means that Chelsea's success or failure in Saturday night's Champions League final will define Tottenham's season.

If the Blues win, we face another year of Europa League football: potentially unglamorous trips to Eastern Europe and cringe-worthy attempts from ITV4 and Channel 5 to glorify the tournament. If they lose, White Hart Lane will be hosting Champions League nights again. No biggie.

And the team we're relying on to beat them? European giants and four-time champions Bayern Munich. A club soaked in history. Armed with some of the most lethal predators in world football. And playing the final in their own back yard. What could possibly go wrong?

    Lots.

Somehow, Chelsea have wriggled their way into the final, miraculously battling past Napoli and Benfica before thwarting the greatest club side of all time with 10 men. People say that their name is already written on the trophy. Maybe it is. But let's not be premature with the engraving. 90 minutes (or 120+ if there's extra-time and penalties) is a long time in football. Anything can happen.

And so on Saturday, for one night only, we are Bayern Munich fans.

We must get behind our new team 100%, with the same passion and desire that we showed during the thrilling European nights of 2010/11.

You can show your support in the following ways:

-- Learn some Bayern Munich chants. The easiest one is:

Wir lieben Munchen, jawohl. Wir lieben Munchen, jawohl. Wir lieben Munchen, jawohl. Oh Munchen find ich toll!

Obviously in the same tune as We love you Tottenham, we do etc...

-- Make your own Bayern Munich banners/flags. They may be over 700 miles away, but the support is inspiring your new favourite team.

-- If you're drinking alcohol during the match, stick to German beverages. There are plenty of German beers. I recommend Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier. Or Beck's.

-- The same goes for food. The Germans love their meat. Go nuts. Spoil yourself with Bratwurst and Schweinebraten. Unless you're Jewish.

-- If you have a Twitter/Facebook page, make the Bayern logo or a player your profile picture. I recommend Franck Ribery, as the ladies love him.

-- Need some pre-match music? May I suggest Kraftwerk, Rammstein or David Hasselhoff.

-- Buy yourself a pair of Bavarian lederhosen. You'll definitely look good.

-- If Bayern score, do a Klinsmann Dive in celebration.

-- If Bayern win, get everyone in your house/pub – including those who don't like football, to do a Klinsmann Dive.

-- If Chelsea win, leave the country for several months, and never speak of this again.

Everyone piping on about Hazard and how great he is, if available a much more affordable Belgian option and just as clinical, if not more. Deadly on both flanks and can even play as a 2nd striker if needed.

    Dries Mertens PSV Eindhoven:
The pint-sized winger enjoyed a stellar debut campaign at Philips Stadion, scoring 21 times while amassing 13 assists in 33 matches, and undoubtedly deserves his place on the left flank in the Eredivisie team of the season.

Jan Vertonghen is ready to hand in a transfer request to force through a move to Tottenham as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy holds crunch talks with Ajax in Amsterdam on Monday.

The defender has told his club that he is only interested in a move to White Hart Lane and wants the two teams to swiftly agree a fee.

The Belgian centre-back has already agreed personal terms with Spurs after a trip to London in which he was shown around their new training centre in Enfield and was a guest of the club at their last match of the season, a 2-0 home win over Fulham.

The move has hit a snag over the Dutch club’s £12.1 million asking price, although it isunderstood that Ajax will accept £9.7m for a player who only has a year remaining on his contract.

Spurs have so far offered £8.1m for the defender, who was named Eredivisie Player of the Year for his outstanding contribution to Ajax’s title triumph.

It is believed that Vertonghen is prepared to hand in a transfer request in order to push through the deal if talks on Monday result in stalemate and the two clubs cannot secure an agreement.

The 25-year-old has his heart set on a move to White Hart Lane and his mind has not been changed by events in Munich on Saturday night, when Chelsea’s Champions League triumph relegated Spurs to the Europa League next season.

Tottenham made an official move for the Belgian at the start of this month having failed with an attempt to sign him in January and Vertonghen has settled on the north Londoners because he believes that he will be able to play more regularly in his favourite centre-back position for a Champions League-calibre club.

"Vertonghen has settled on the north Londoners because he believes that he will be able to play more regularly in his favourite centre-back position"
Manager Harry Redknapp considers the defender a key part of his plans for next season and a long-term replacement for club captain Ledley King, who suffers from ongoing knee problems.

“Tottenham are absolutely my favourite," the defender told De Telegraaf earlier this month. "Tottenham is a fantastic football club that has the tradition I want. They buy young, eager, offensive-minded players."

But the Ajax board are asking for a very big amount for a player whose contract is running out in year.

“I trust that both Tottenham and Ajax will put some water in the wine and they will soon reach an agreement."

Tottenham transfer rumours – multiple players on wanted list.

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Emmanuel Adebayor to make his deal a permanent one at White Hart Lane. Harry Redknapp has shown a keen interest to prolong the Togolese’s tenure at the club but his hefty wages have come as a stumbling block for the London outfit. The striker is hopeful, however, to sign a permanent deal with the club. He wrote on his official Twitter account: “Loved my spell at Tottenham. We are working hard with the chairman (Daniel Levy) to make it permanent. Will keep you informed!!”

Loic Remy is still very much on Tottenham’s shopping list with the absence of Champions League football unlikely to deter Spurs from making a play for the Marseille front man. The same story also reports that a move for Luka Modric to Real Madrid seems a distinct possibility with the Galacticos looking for a playmaker and Tottenham keen on not selling him to a Premier League rival. A move for Lassana Diarra back the other way could help sweeten the deal.

Spurs are chasing other players equally vehemently as·Chairman Daniel Levy flew to Amsterdam to have talks with Jan Vertonghen in order to wade off interest from the likes of Arsenal and AC Milan and acquire the player’s signature. Levy will be having many such meetings in the coming weeks as he tries to convince some top talent that Tottenham are still a club to reckon with.

Tottenham are also seriously pondering over a move for Udinese midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah, trying to snap up the Ghanaian right under the noses of some of his more illustrious suitors. Manchester United and Juventus are said to be interested in the player as well, with some media reports suggesting that the former has already had a bid rejected for the player. Tottenham will have to cough up over £10 million for the dynamic midfielder but snapping up Asamoah will not be the easiest of tasks, considering the opposition they face and the vehemence of Udinese.

Liverpool planning a shock move for Spurs boss Harry Redknapp

American owners are impressed by Harry’s style of football at the Lane

Harry Redknapp has emerged as a shock target to become Liverpool’s new manager. Standard Sport understands that the Merseyside club are considering making a move for the 65-year-old having sacked Kenny Dalglish last week.

Redknapp is believed to have shot up their wish-list after Frank de Boer, Jurgen Klopp, Didier Deschamps and Brendan Rodgers ruled themselves out of the running.

Liverpool still have some candidates interested in the job, including former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas, ex-England boss Fabio Capello, Wigan coach Roberto Martinez as well as former Reds manager Rafael Benitez.

However, their desire for Redknapp, who has just one year left on his contract at Tottenham, is a stunning new development.

It is believed Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, have been impressed with the job Redknapp has done at White Hart Lane and the style of football he plays.

Spurs only missed out on qualifying for the Champions League because Chelsea — who also have Redknapp on their list of candidates for the manager’s job at Stamford Bridge — won the competition.

But there has been speculation that the relationship between Redknapp and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been deteriorating.

Redknapp’s link with the England job following Capello’s resignation in February sparked a major slump in the team’s form and a run of one win in nine games ensured they slipped from third, which would have seen them make Europe’s premier club competition, behind Arsenal into fourth.

Significantly, Redknapp has yet to sign a contract extension and while he insisted last week that he wanted to stay at White Hart Lane, he also confirmed that no talks with Levy had been planned.

However, should Liverpool pursue their interest in Redknapp, they will be aware that Levy will demand compensation for the 12 months remaining on his contract.

Another stumbling block would be whether the former West Ham boss would want to manage a club in the north of England.

Redknapp lives on the south coast and that was the main reason he rejected the chance to manage Newcastle in 2008.

Spurs have already begun working on securing their transfer targets, including Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen, Marseille striker Loic Remy and trying to agree a permanent deal with Manchester City for Emmanuel Adebayor.

But despite seeing a number of approaches rebuffed, Liverpool’s owners still feel that getting the chance to take over at Anfield will be tough for anyone to turn down.

I wonder if the non CL thing will actually have much impact on Spurs' dealings this summer. I mean, although you didn't get CL you got top four and competed for top 2 for a while. Your absence from the CL is a quirky twist of fate as opposed to genuine bad play through the season, and you definitely have a very talented team who can compete, especially with quality additions, next season. The bad thing is if a few "star" players decide to drop out it may affect transfers but, to be honest, Modric is the only one I would be confident will actually go this summer, perhaps Adebayor as well if a deal can't be worked out with City.

There definitely seems to be more of a half-full mindset around the Spurs fans I've talked to recently than usual (though I do still laugh at the next year is our year quotes from the same old few) and especially more so than at my club. Things are looking rosy for you horrible lot!
