First off I must compliment you on such a simple gui frontend, and secondly I must compliment you on how fast you correct problems, I respect that, and say thanks, not because I'm here for free tv (I don't need it - I got Directv, 1 DVR + 3 STBs)
but because I respect what you do.

...been playing around a bit and I've a couple of questions for you, so here goes...

1. Is it possible for you to add an option to choose (select) from available local channel lists?

2. When load remote channel list is selected my local channel list is overwritten, any chance of fixing this?

3. I have to scroll down the channel list every time to select a channel that's on the bottom of the list - is it possible to stay at the last position (channel) chosen? - would come in very handy when handling large channel lists...

4. Is it possible for you to add an option to change default player, eg. mplayer instead of VLC?

5. Is your intention (in future releases) to create compatibility with 'other' widely available channel lists, eg. Apple TV, XBMC? - an option to import/export? - conversion from/to?

Fixed those three items. Right now you can only load an alternate channel list when opening the program.

I am looking into the other two items you've suggested though.

Just wanted to drop a line of thanks for the fine streaming took, rtmpGUI. I'm using it on my PC, while also trying to figure out how to use the rtmp links to get some of the programs to stream to my original, modded Xboxes running the latest XBMC for XBox. Getting RTMP sites working with those devices is quite challenging, at least without knowing how to write in Python.

In any case, I do appreciate all your hard work!

Anyway, after really easy editing, i ve recompiled your solution under linux (monodevelop) and it works pretty well.

Mine just auto updated to v 0.0.10.0 then went into a continual loop with the autoupdate.bat keep popping up & closing then rtmpGUI popping up & closing and so on again.......?

The reason I say as long as I do not update the player and just the remote XML it seems to work ok.

With the most recent version you need to exit out of the program after you set vlc and then restart it.

If you wish to submit channels you'll need to register at Sign up for an API Key
I included a channels.xml in the zip package for those that want to help rebuild the database.
Starting with version 12 any one not on at least that version will fail to receive updates.

Yep. There should be safeguards in place to prevent what happened last time.

I keep getting and error when trying to load remote channels list. using version 11
also in the help I get this message: what does that mean ?

A preemptive measure until I got everything going again. I locked the out the old directory.

The remote list is fine now. All that was messed up was the guide for older versions.

The list is about 99% back to where it was, some of the channels are still missing and some might be offline, but most of it is back.

Suggestion/Request

How about adding a advanced tab/button/hotlink to Add Channel to display more parameters for rtmpdump...?

Why you ask...? Because some channels need more than just url(-r) - swfUrl(-W) - pageUrl(-p)...

Example using the new justin.tv feature....
