Lappy 1 has a buggered battery and needs a new power cord as its knackered.(it's ancient and has no sound, but streams very well for some reason)
Lappy 2, when switched on goes to the bios black screen thing(can you tell I'm a 'puter tard?). A pain coz it's only a few years old. Hoping to have a friend check it out this weekend.
Anyway, Stream torrent working well, so everything looking good for the weekend.

lappy 1 = splice a new cord, a lamp cord will do. sharp knife and electrical tape or even duct tape
lappy 2 = start pc and enter bios setup. This can be done by either hitting the delete button, or F1 key, or F2 key sometimes. You have to be hitting the correct key as soon as it begins to start up. After you're in.... reset settings to default. save and exit. re-boot. This is a very basic fix, but it's likely more complicated. Just tryin to help mate.

lappy 2 = Tried that. It won't boot. Says something is corrupted or missing? The friends going to wipe the hard drive and re-install everything.
