now to serious stuff that isn't happening in a parallel universe:

"@sam_amick: Shocker in Sacto: Kings GM Geoff Petrie releases statement saying contract of F Chuck Hayes has been voided after he failed the physical."
    and

@ESPNSteinLine: Just going up on our site: Peja Stojakovic tells ESPN that he's retiring on a championship high at age 34. Link on way momentarily

    Ty Lawson’s goofiest teammate

    By Benjamin Hochman

So Ty Lawson played pro ball in Lithuania this fall. After one game, he walked into the locker room by the showers.
“I was like, ‘What’s that smell?’ ” Lawson recalled.
He then spotted his teammate, Robertas Javtokas, standing under the shower … smoking a cigarette.
“I look over, he’s puffing and says, ‘Oh, what’s up Ty?’ ” Lawson said with a laugh.
This Robertas guy was quite a character, providing the Nuggets point guard with some of his favorite memories of European pro ball during the NBA lockout. He’s also a very talented player, drafted by the Spurs in the second round in 2001. As for his personality, Lawson loved it.
“I remember one game, I threw him a full-court pass,” Lawson said. “He was by himself and he just drops it. So we go back to the bench – I’m mad. Dead-serious mad. And he says: ‘I must have put too much butter on my bread this morning.’ And that turned my whole mood around. We were down 10 in the fourth quarter and I just started laughing.”
Javtokas is nicknamed “The Shark,” and has a huge shark tattoo on his left bicep.
And here’s our buddy dunking on a 12-FOOT RIM!:

    WOW#

Just wow....i know it's just preseason but there something wrong when lakers have to play their starters in 4th quarter in a preseason game just to avoid a 30+ home loss!

    So few thoughts:

    Both teams took game seriously

Best player in california is not named Kobe

The world is not in peace actually total out of shape....and lakers plan to bring that guy from the bench hoping for scoring well good luck

Do not let Kobe stats blow you,i saw the game he was ballhogging like 2005-2006 style driving one against 3 at the rim, taking deep shots in corner being doubleteamed.....turnovers just say everything...Kobe ballhogging well as hater i love it

Bynum can't defend pick and roll against quick guys....this is where Odom will be missed

Steve Blake is crap but nothing new and when you think best option left is Fish well lakers nation prepare your tissues

Mcbobs deserves more playing time...like that dude total unselfish and 100% effort

Somewhere in Dallas Cuban condo Lamar is laughing and Mitch will try to avoid Kobe tomorrow at practice tho it was a Buss son trade

Lakers have so much work to do and with Bynum suspension for 5 games they should better be ready to ball high level in 6 days

Clipps look damn great just after two days together and have clearly more talent....yes Yoshi i believe they will finish ahead of lakers in standings....that combo billups-paul is terrific,Griffin + Jordan are the most atheltic frontcourt in all league if Deandre can avoid fouling as much as last year....Butler provides mid-range shooting.....so the bench Foye as two and Mo as backup well those two guys could start for half of teams in league....Gomes as SF/PF backup.....and you still have Bledsoe as third pg string and joker......they need just backup center now and maybe one veteran big on minimum to provide fouls and they fine but playoff team word with home court advantage coming!

CP3 still amazing me every day...he's so good that even Brian Cook looks like a good rotation player!

Wed preseason game is a must watch....lakers are coming to win and clipps are looking to give them another slap ass!

that's not cheap, but how many money can a SG command nowadays if he is consistent, a great defender, plays hard every minute and every night, with a decent offensive game, excellent conditioning, has good intangibles and no big injury history?

    btw:

^that was nasty! Deandre and Blake are going to be an unstoppable force this year!!

I watched some of the game last night and the Clippers were awesome! Chris Paul doesn't need time to adapt really because his game is the perfect teammate game. I mean he's the type of player everyone in the league would like to play with cos he's all about winning and he's unselfish.

Lakers didn't look great last night, I'm not sure where a lot of their scoring is gonna come from besides Kobe and Pau? Its only pre-season anyways so I wouldn't read too much into anything yet anyways. Lets wait till the 25th.
