Well, I hate to rub it in, but I was working in Atlanta at the time and was at the game. Saw Sid slide in to beat a crappy piece of fielding by Barry Bonds.

    But I understand your pain.

Yes you are right Big Mac. It was a crappy piece of fielding by Bonds. But if he would have listened to his then center fielder (Van Slyke), that play would have never happened!!

Well i was at the game in Dunedin this afternoon. I was impressed with the way we battled back in the late innings and secured the win. I was NOT impressed with Alvarez at all. If i were a decision maker on this club i would give him no later than June 1st to prove himself or he is gone. Karstens look decent with 4 innings pitched only giving up1 run on 4 hits. The big blow was McClouth's hr in the 8th that gave the buccos the lead. Hauge also homered in the ninth. All in all a good performance. Now on to Philly and then the season opener!!!

Well less than 24 hours the buccos will lace them up and start the motor on the 2012 season. Is there reason for excitement? Ya i guess opening day is always exciting. But in general i have none at this time. I have seen some good things in spring training and i have seen some not so good. Obviously pitching is ALWAYS the key for me and a alot of you Buccos fans out there. But for this team to be successful and possibly smell the post season, many of our starters need to start fast and stay fast. With the sure uncertainty of this pitching staff its imperative that they raise the bar on the offensive production this year. The only one i will single out with a comment is Alvarez. I know he has it in him , but for some reason the demons are keeping him from being a superstar. Well you know what, the time is up for him for me. I give him till June 1st to make a his mark or he is GONE. I do like our reserves and hopefully they will pay dividends and "steal" some wins for us this year.

Once again i go into this year like the past 19 with my proverbial phrase of "cautious optimism". Hopefully this club can stay healthy under the direction of Hurdle and the staff make it a winning season for a change at maybe something to get real excited about come September....we'll see. I may have to make a "raise the jolly roger " chart to see how many times i say it during the season. OH...one more thing....LETS GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Connected and watching teh preview live from THE HOUSE OF THRILLS!!!! Like crazy said pitching is the key for this season, but I will add two more things: Attitude, buy into finishing what we started, and show up and dont quit, play teh games till the end with urgency. Secondly, injuries at catcher and on teh pitching staff. I look forward to Burnett coming back and I am anxious to see how Barajas handles teh staff of course. Like Crazy, I also like our reserves, teh bench is strong and anyone of those guys can start, which brings me to a point...... Pedro "the porker" Alvarez, better get his shit together or JUNE 1 he needs shipped back to the DR, or hung from teh Clemente Bridge by his balls. He has had enough time, counting this season to tap into his potential. I will always question his desire, fire, and passion as a player, for I do not see it. So, with that, I will call him out.
As for teh break out players this season........ its all about Elvis....... dude hits frozen ropes, and I like his style. The other I will mention will be Karstens, he will be better than last year, he will keep improving.
Yes, I will drop lots of gunnerisms....................... and with that BEAT EM BUCS!!!!!!

The Buccos ran into a buzzaw in the opener today named Halladay.Bedard had a impressive start also, but you still have to score runs if you want to give yourself a chance to win. I will be ok with a 161-1 record!! LOL!!

Bedard pitched well.....changed speeds, worked fast and threw strikes.....BUT Halladay was better, and teh fact the bats didnt show up today did not help teh quality start...I hope Bedard doesnt turn into teh new Maholm...no run support. Also, I liked teh attitude, we didnt roll over and take it up teh arse from teh phils today, we played good defensively. had chances to win it, I would liked to have seen teh bench more involved near teh end..... Pedro, true it was teh first game, looks teh same.
