It is definitely hot (when it's not raining, lot's of rain this summer) and scantily clad ladies abound as always, brother!
Summertime brings out the locals as well so it's been fun.
Looks like we may have ourselves a division pennant race if the Bucs and Reds keep on winning.
I remember how it was in the seventies when the Pirates and Reds were always battling for their respective divisions.
Great baseball in the Burgh is back!

53 and 40...wow. 13 games over .500. Obviously i am impressed with the effort so far after the break. Its also nice to see PNC packed (which it should be). Hope the bats continue to do the job and our 4th and 5 starters can get their act together!. Well i have to run now. Have to go find my broom for today's game. GO BUCS!!!

Pirates Acquire Wandy Rodriguez

The Pirates have acquired left-handed starter Wandy Rodriguez from the Astros in exchange for minor leaguers Rudy Owens, Robbie Grossman, and Colton Cain. The Astros will also pay some of the remaining $30MM owed to Rodriguez through 2014, a salary commitment which includes a 2014 option that was triggered by the trade.

Rodriguez, 33, has posted a 4.04 ERA, 7.5 K/9 and 2.2 BB/9 in a little over 1,300 career innings, all with the Astros. The Wasserman Media Group client signed a three-year, $34MM extension with Houston prior to the 2011 season.

Tom Singer of MLB.com first broke that the trade was close. Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com confirmed that it was official and added in the financial details (via Twitter), and club press releases added which players the Astros received.

Bucco news: Meek gets optioned back to aaa, and marte gets the call. I am interested to see what this kid brings to the table!!

Looking forward to seeing Marte. I heard he is a 5 tool player, but we will see as he learns to play teh game here at the mlb level. Also, I hope this is not to use hi as trade bait to get a bat, it is possible though.....we did that with moises alou, and he was a beast for montreal for many years. Looking forward to seeing wandy. As for Meek, karma maybe catching up

Hell of a job by AJ tonight. Should have had a no hitter going into the bottom of the 9th. Got squeezed by the ump on that 2-2 pitch.

Was a great game and no shame in a one hitter...also stops a streak and gets us back in the win column. as for the trades, the only good one was wandy..... the others were minor deals, maybe they strenghten defense and teh bench but no more
