Default Manchester United v Athletic [Europa League]

    Round of 16, First leg - 08/03/2012 - 21:05CET (20:05 local time) - Old Trafford - Manchester
    http://www.wiziwig.tv/broadcast.php?...99&part=sports

Manchester United are set to welcome Chris Smalling back after his recovery from a head injury sustained during England's 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands last week and the former Fulham man may slot straight into the back line.

Anderson is also fighting for a starting place after two months out with a knee injury but the game comes too soon for Antonio Valencia and Tom Cleverley. However, the Ecuadorian winger may be in contention for the second leg.

Athletic boss Marcelo Bielsa will be without long-term absentees Aitor Ocio, Carlos Gurpegi and Xabi Castillo for the first-leg clash at Old Trafford.

Midfielder Ander Iturraspe missed the Bilbao club's Basque derby with Real Sociedad at the weekend but is expected to return to the squad in time for Thursday's clash, possibly on the bench.

    C'mon United!!!
Watching Fergie knocked Liverpool right off their fvcking perch was my greatest challenge.
    United's soul is never sold
So proudly wear that green and gold
We'll never wear our famous Red
Till Glazer's gone or even dead
So raise that ancient standard high
By green and gold we'll live or die
That day will come again for sure
When we can wear our Red once more

no there's also a mix of Utd lineups thrown in amongst them

and this one always gets me "Location: La Masia Academy of Films"

no prediction for this one but Utd should do better than their neighbours. dont know too much about this Bilbao team but have read good things about their manager for what that's worth

if there's one player I've never rated in this Utd team it's Phil Jones, and today they play him in midfield for some reason but let's see how he fares there

fantastic game from Athletic. Unfortunately the stupid hand ball spoiled it a little but they were very impressive. Forced ManU to counter attacks in their own stadium for a good part of the match. I knew they were going to man up there but didn´t expect them to be that superior. Hopefully they don´t get punished in the 2nd leg for this unnecessairy goal at the end.

    Bummer that for the manure
    "Veni, Vidi, Vici".

Most football teams are temperamental. That's 90% temper and 10% mental.

Not taking anything away from Ath' Bilbao, they deserved the win. But the 2nd goal was offside, and the rule that brought the freekick that led to the 3rd goal was a F%£*!G joke! Felt sorry for DeGea, had a fantastic performance in front of a 'Flag Waving' surrendering defence!

If the 1st leg is anything to go by, I don't think I'll bother watching the 2nd leg.

2nd goals was about as much offside as the hands for the penalty was inside the area

3rd Ath. goal was mostly sloppiness by the United players
