    Preview

Saturday's victory in the Clasico will lift Real Madrid as they attempt to reach their first Champions League final since 2002, when they beat Bayer Leverkusen to lift a record ninth continental crown. Jose Mourinho's team will need to replicate the defensive rigour and clinical finishing that did for Barca if they are to reach next month's Champions League final in Munich. Bayern, who have won three out of four semi-finals against Real, have a slender advantage thanks to Mario Gomez's late strike in the first leg and arrive boosted after Franck Ribery grabbed a stoppage-time winner at Werder Bremen on Saturday.

    Yellow peril

A number of players on both sides are under threat of missing the final if they are booked on Wednesday. For Madrid, Xabi Alonso, Fabio Coentrao, Higuain and Sergio Ramos will all have to be careful while seven Bayern players are on their last warning, including Thomas Muller and captain Philipp Lahm.
Mourinho kept quiet after the Barcelona match, as is his custom of late in league games, perhaps to consider the important question of whether or not to continue with a winning team. The same eleven that started at the Camp Nou lost in Germany last week, and he has options if he believes three big games in little over a week are too much for some of his players. Brazilians Kaka and Marcelo and Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain could all be used from the start to freshen things up.

    Match facts

Only one of Bayern’s last 30 games in the Champions League has ended in a draw (W20, L9).

This will be the 14th meeting between the pair, making this fixture the most frequent in the competition's history

    Player to watch: Mario Gomez

Gomez is the most efficient marksman in Champions League history. The German international has on scored on average a goal every 92 minutes, a feat that no player with at least 15 goals to his name can match. He has scored 12 goals in nine Champions League appearances this term, but only one of his goals has come away from the Allianz Arena.

    Likely starting XI's

    Real Madrid: 1-Iker Casillas; 17-Alvaro Arbeloa, 3-Pepe, 4-Sergio Ramos, 15-Fabio Coentrao; 14-Xabi Alonso, 6-Sami Khedira, 10-Mesut Ozil; 7-Cristiano Ronaldo, 9-Karim Benzema, 22-Angel Di Maria.

    Bayern Munich: 1-Manuel Neuer; 21-Philipp Lahm, 17-Jerome Boateng, 28-Holger Badstuber, 27-David Alaba; 30-Luiz Gustavo, 39-Toni Kroos, 31-Bastian Schweinsteiger, 25-Thomas Mueller, 7-Franck Ribery; 11-Ivica Olic.

    Kiss and make up

According to media reports Bayern wingers Ribery and Arjen Robben were involved in a row a week earlier - but a handshake on Saturday looked to have sealed a reconciliation at just the right time. Frenchman Ribery has even more motivation to reach the final after missing out in 2010 due to suspension.

    What they're saying

Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes: "I'm satisfied with our attitude and determination. We deserved the win, it will be morale-boosting, and we go to Madrid full of confidence and belief. We're always capable of scoring away from home so I'm optimistic."

Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo: " I hope the Bernabeu gets the first goal. The crowd has to be ready from the minute we go on the pitch because we feel their influence. It's a big match and if we have the crowd's support we'll be full of confidence."

    Enjoy

I fancied Bayern in the first leg and expect them to give Real a hard game tonight. Organised, hard working and disciplined, all factors that make Bayern a tough team to play against. I'm going for a 2-2 draw in this one, Gomes to score for Bayern is a no brainer really!

    Enjoy the game everyone!!

I said when the draw for the semis were made that it would be a Barca v Bayern final, the first part of that has gone tits up after riise's lot put on a great defensive display. I don't see this going the wrong way though, 2-2 draw for me in a classic game of football and Bayern into the final.

If the final was anywhere but Munich I'd want Bayern to win this I really would but I hope and pray Real can turn this round and come out victors. Imagine what Munich will be like to get served if the hosts are in the final.

Come on Jose. Work the magic!

Lineup: Casillas, Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Alonso, Khedira, Ronaldo, Di María, Özil, Benzema.

Bench: Adán, Albiol, Coentrao, Granero, Kaká, Callejón, Higuaín.

Coentrao out surprisingly = more offense wanted from Mourinho!

Imagine if Jose wins the CL with RM and becomes Chelsea manager next season? Interesting. This should be a cracker Who do I want to win RM but I think Munich will win as they have home advantage in the final. Jose vs Chelsea now that would be great. Enjoy the game everyone. Riise is going to Munich nothing else matters. Enjoy the game lads.

How Munich have not scored 2 from the clear chances they have had is beyond me.

2-0 This could get embarrassing. Ronaldo unmarked outside the edge of the box = Madness.

This is a top class match tonight, both teams only interested in getting goals...a great watch for a neutral so far.
