Premier League has been done against Gordon Albion team you can check it now with their poor results on European and World Cups in last 20 years. Only 40% English play in Premier League clubs. Football League was more disputed before Premier League and now only top 5 teams can take the cup so I don't think it's good moment to celebrate inequality of this highly commercial league.
I guess someone will telle me now if there wasn't Premier League best players will play abroad. Bu to those one I respond, best players aren't always those who are expensive. German League isn't so commercial like PL and they have good results in European cups. Same thing to La Liga.
