Watching this one was like going back in time when we were getting beat season after season at Anfield. Top notch performance from Liverpool and absolutely shocking one from Chels. Not at the races tonight but I will forgive them for once.

What a nice way to finish our home season. Was a great win Carroll was very good tonight. Really hope it comes good for him next season. For once that was a very enjoyable win. results wise, di Matteo almost took us through the end of the season without getting found out. Too much asked, league table position actually a fair reflection of the "quality" in our squad.

Tremendous end to a shocking home season.

One game to go until we can forget about what has been a very poor season for the Reds.

Tonight just shows what we are capable of, but unfortunately, we have n't seen it often enough. There are some positive signs, especially the development of the Suarez / Carroll partnership, but over the Summer I expect to see quite a lot of players moving on.

Tonight just shows what we are capable of, but unfortunately, we have n't seen it often enough.

This is what I've said to a few people who have criticised Liverpool (fasteddie, iluvmanu etc). The difference between Liverpool being where they are in the league and being top 4 is very, very small. A little bit of attitude, a little bit of better selection, a little bit of better finishing and probably a couple of additional players. All of these things are achievable between now and the start of next season. We've started to see some better finishing with the hat-trick from Suarez recently and some better attitude from Carroll. Some of the selection issues are still there (although Enrique was dropped again for the 2nd time in this game).

I've said many times that Carroll will come good. He has shown in the last month or so just how good he can be when he plays, the team supports him and his attitude is right. He has everything he needs to be a top, top player. I've seen signs of him and Suarez linking up and that will only improve. Lucas will be back next season and that will give a bit of solidity to the centre of midfield. Sterling will make a big impact next season too. We need a right-winger and maybe another left-winger. We could probably do with another central midfielder too. A lot depends on whether Enrique gets back into some form next season and how the young lads (Kelly, Flanagan and Robninson) do.
