@Gwolf: you don't have to. "Name the scorers - 5 points per correct scorer, all predictions MUST score to get any points for this question. You can pick as many or as few scorers as you like. BUT - every one you pick MUST score a goal or you get no points. The level of risk is therefore down to you! You get 5 points for every goal your choice scores as long as you have no choices that fail to score. So you can pick 1 player to score and if he scores you get 5 points. Or you pick 5 players who you think will score, but if one of them doesn't score you get no points". Sometimes it can be confusing

Mine was just an example, score could be 2-1 Spain, but you could pick totally different scorers. The more you pick, one may be correct, four may not, and so on. I was just trying to explain how Bert's question wasn't as difficult as it it may read.

What is Bert going to do, just give it to the Torres answers? Give it to everyone with a player on three goals? Or do what bookies do and give the full amount to Torres and then quarter the odds on the other players that finished with three?

It seems daft that Torres won it on the grounds of being on the pitch for less minutes than the others. I often have a bet on the top scorer but I didn't this time (just as well as that useless misfiring French twat that plays for Madrid didn't score any!) I would of thought the bookies would have to pay out a fraction of the odds on the others with 3 goals (a quarter or fifth ect) but don't know for sure. Some of my lot seem to have been tricked into thinking we have some value at 50 million for the 2012 European Championship golden boot winner but I am not one of them. I've watched the c*nt too much over the last year and a half to be fooled. Two of his goals were against the Paddies too don't forget.

Anyway I look forward to finding out if I ended up with a Champions League spot or did a Spurs. I guess poor old Bert will need another abacus to work this one out! Cheers again for doing this Bert. It was a good bit of fun

firstly, apologies for not posting sooner, I'll get the results up at some point.

My intention was to count everyone that predicted one of the top scorers, as that seems to me to be the intent of the question - so Gomez, and the rest, also count for the points.

And the results are in...




No-one correctly predicted either the red cards (3) or the number of goals (82). 8 people got the top scorer. 6 people correctly chose Spain as the winners.

It's just as well that Admin is so good at running the site, and I'm useful for cluttering up the forum with this kind of thing. We'd be useless at the bookies.. Speaking of gamblers, riise94 missed out on his Champion's League spot, taken by best of the Mods (and Spurs, riise94 ) it's RiggsYid. Third place goes to a slow starter who picked well for the later rounds, devilsarcade. Second place, despite a strange guess at the goals, and not too many scores correct, but gained confidently in the end, goes to Redbullsnation. Of course, there could only be one winner, strong throughout, the only player to get at least one score prediction in every group, good predictions in the later rounds, some bonus points just to be sure, and having something of a mid game strop, congratulations to... KitJeNajveci.
