Jan Vertonghen has his heart set on joining “amazing” Tottenham and has admitted he will have to be patient to secure his dream move.

“I’m just waiting for it to be done,” said Vertonghen. “I understand the situation and I have to be patient. I am not at the Euros but I hope it will be done soon after.

“There are still other clubs interested but I will wait. Tottenham is an amazing club and are the team I like to join the most.”

“I am not aware if Ajax are asking too much or not,” added Vertonghen. “I don’t know what they are asking. I am not part of the negotiation.

“Mr Levy was in Amsterdam on Monday and is talking to Ajax and my manager. When they have an agreement they will let me know and I can move.”

“Does it matter that Tottenham are in the Europa League? No, not that much,” said Vertonghen. “You don’t just join for one season.”

Spurs made an official move for the Belgian at the start of this month, having failed with an attempt to sign him in January. Vertonghen has chosen Spurs as his preferred destination ahead of other suitors, including Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Tottenham are hopeful of tying up a £9.6 million move for Jan Vertonghen as they edge closer to an agreement with Ajax.

The Dutch giants have now indicated they are ready to accept Spurs’ offer for their captain, with the two clubs now mainly discussing the structure of the proposed payments.

Vertonghen will be in London for Belgium’s game against England on June 2, and Spurs hope to be able to conduct a medical for the defender before Saturday’s match.

LOUIS SAHA has been released by Tottenham

The striker, 33, arrived at Spurs from Everton in January.

His availability has already alerted West Ham boss Sam Allardyce, who wants to add more Premier League experience to his squad after promotion via the Championship play-off final.

Tottenham's Ryan Nelsen is set for a summer move to Major League Soccer on a free.

Nelsen, 34, spent four years at DC United before leaving them for Blackburn in 2005 and it is understood the club, along with other MLS sides, are keen on offering him a deal.

The defender moved to Spurs in January as cover for the injured Sebastien Bassong but he is not considered part of the club's long-term plans.

Jermaine Jenas, who is probably best remembered for his late goal against Arsenal in an epic 4-4 draw between the arch rivals, could well be on his way out of White Hart Lane this summer.

Rumours are that Queens Park Rangers are prepared to offer the 29-year-old a career lifeline as they look to replace bad boy Joey Barton. The current QPR skipper has been handed a 12 match ban for his unsportsmanlike conduct in the final game of the season against Manchester City, and the club are reportedly looking to offload the troublemaker.

Jenas interestingly though signed a contract extension with Tottenham barely a couple of months ago, but The Times believes that the intention of that contract was to help increase his resale value rather than really keeping him on at the club.

Chairman Daniel Levy is also trying to offload Sebastien Bassong, Vedran Corluka, Niko Kranjcar, Giovanni Dos Santos, David Bentley and goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

Giovani Dos Santos will hold crunch talks with Tottenham about his future next month.

Dos Santos, who faced Wales in New York, said: “I don’t know about my future. “I want to concentrate on the national team, but after that I will speak to the chairman to see what is going to happen to me.

“You never know in football. You have to try to do your best to get chances. Maybe I will go, maybe I will stay. It’s great to come to the national team and play games. I’m grateful for the coach to give me the chance. It’s a pleasure.

“I don’t have any other offers at the moment. I will speak to my manager and we will see in a few weeks what will happen with my future.”

Swansea City want to bring Tottenham forward Giovani Dos Santos to the Liberty Stadium on a loan deal.

Rodgers was in attendance as the forward turned in an excellent display for Mexico in their 2-0 win over Wales in New York on Sunday, with his teasing runs causing the Dragons defence all manner of problems.

It is understood that any move for Dos Santos would be a loan deal, with Swansea set to break their transfer record to bring midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson to the club on a permanent basis.

Steve Caulker insists that he is open to the possibility of returning to Swansea City next season.

"I've loved every minute of my time at Swansea since going over there during pre-season," Caulker told Sky Sports.

"I spent around nine months at the club and I learned things every day, with the gaffer giving all the lads bundles of confidence.

"A big part of my game now is composure and I've managed to add that to my game this year whilst at Swansea.

"The main aim for me is to continue my development and the only way I can see that happening is by playing regularly.

"I'm sure that over the summer I'll sit down and decide what is best for me, but I can't emphasise enough how important it is for me to be playing.

"I've still got a lot to learn and I've learned so much in a year here at Swansea that should it be available again to me next season and Tottenham are happy with it I'd be stupid to say no."

Bongani Khumalo has no intention of returning to the Premier Soccer League, according to his agent.

The former SuperSport United captain has endured a difficult time since signing for Premier League giants Tottenham in January 2011, with the centre-back having failed to make a single appearance for the club.

However, Khumalo's representative, Glyn Binkin, says the 25-year-old is determined to stick it out in north London and earn his place in Harry Redknapp's squad.

"Bongani has made it clear on his side that he wants to remain in Europe and he hopes to get an opportunity at Tottenham Hotspur," Binkin told Football411.

"He is still contracted to the club for another three years and he will go back to Tottenham for pre-season at the beginning of July."

"There is no chance of him coming back to South Africa. He is not going to come back because it suits everybody else and Bongani will do what's right for Bongani. He will be patient," Binkin continued.

"In many respects Bongani reminds me of a young Lucas Radebe, who went to Leeds United at age 24 and initially, he struggled with injuries.

"But Lucas got his chance eventually and he made a success of his career in England, so hopefully it will be the same with Bongani. I'm very confident that Bongani can make it in England."

Binkin added: "I think what people need to realise is that Bongani is learning a lot despite the fact that he has not got his chance yet with the first team.

"The standard in the reserve league or in Tottenham's youth side is incredibly high so he has developed and become a better player."

Tottenham have been told they will have to pay £20million if they want to strike a deal for Internacional's Leandro Damiao.

Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his strike-force for next season and is reported to have already failed with one bid of £14million for Damiao as the Brazilian side hold out for more.

Juventus, AC Milan, Roma and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on the striker and Internacional are confident a bidding war will start to push the figure up towards their valuation.

Redknapp does have other irons in the fire and is still working on a deal to turn Emmanuel Adebayor's loan move into a permanent deal, while Marseille's Loic Remy is still high on his wanted list.

Harry Redknapp could raid relegated Wolves for striker Steven Fletcher and winger Matt Jarvis.

Redknapp is known for his bargain buys in the transfer market and the Tottenham Hotspur manager could add to his long list of shrewd purchases by bringing in Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis from Wolves.

Wolves reportedly want £10m apiece for the two players, a steep amount considering their dire state. Spurs will be confident of bringing down the price though as they look to add to their squad in the summer.

They are light in the strikers department, with Emannuel Adebayor’s future yet to be sorted out. While Jarvis and Fletcher would make an impact on arrival they aren’t going to take Spurs to the next level, currently occupied by the Manchester clubs. Rumours linking the club with Newcastle’s Demba Ba will please the fans a lot more, especially when the striker is available for as little as £7m.

Arsenal and Tottenham will have to move fast if they want to sign Sochaux midfielder Marvin Martin after reports in Turkey claimed Fenerbahce are ready to make a £6m move.

The 24 year old is said to have great on-ball skills and excellent vision that make him an immense threat in midfield.

Martin has been touted by the press as the next Zinedine Zidane after he scored 2 goals on his International debut. The Frenchman has been one of the most up and coming midfielders in the Ligue 1 and has been watched over by many prominent clubs across Europe.

Both Tottenham and Arsenal could use a midfielder in the mould of Martin. While Arsenal haven’t entirely succeeded in filling the gap left by Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, Tottenham are running scared over big money moves for Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart. Marvin Martin may prove to be a value for money investment that may end up paying unfathomable dividends in the future.

Fenerbahce are looking to bring him to Turkey as they look to retain their Turkish League title amidst growing pressure from Galatasaray. Both Arsenal and Tottenham have kept their eyes on the player for a while but if they don’t move fast, the Turkish giants might make a swift move right under their noses. Fenerbahce hope to open talks with Marvin as they line up a bid to test Sochaux’s resilience.

Tottenham, Stoke and QPR are battling to secure the signature of Ivory Coast striker Arouna Kone.

The 28-year-old is believed to have a £9m release clause in his contract and there are no shortage of clubs chasing his signature.

Kone has made a full recovery from a serious knee injury and was a star performer for Levante last season when he netted 15 goals.

The talented forward enjoyed a successive loan spell with the Spanish side and has now secured a permanent move from Sevilla.

He has signed a one-year deal with Levante, but they are expected to sell him straight away as they look to ease their financial worries.

Tottenham have been warned to make their move for Sweden striker Ola Toivonen or risk missing out on the PSV Eindhoven hot shot.

The 25-year-old is on short list of strikers being considered at White Hart Lane, but Spurs have other priorities, such as securing Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent deal from Manchester City.

However, Fiorentina and Genoa hope to take advantage by making a move for the £7million-rated forward. Valencia have registered an interest, but are also sounding out other targets first.

Toivonen, who scored 18 goals in 33 league games last season, is open to a move this summer after PSV failed to reach an agreement with Liverpool, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion last year.

'If PSV want to earn some money by selling me, then now is the time to sell me,' said Toivonen, who has two years left on his contract.

'If something interesting comes along, I will look into it.'

Toivonen is set to feature for Sweden at Euro 2012.

Scott Parker has revealed his joy at being fit for Euro 2012 after finally making the breakthrough into the England side in the past 18 months.

He said: "I'm glad things have cleared up a bit and I am ready to go. I have waited a long time to break into the England team, never mind go to a major tournament.

"To think I might not be there was quite disappointing but all the medical team have done a great job and I am going to go.

"The game in Norway was my first for a while and I'm pleased I've come through it. It felt good and I felt fine which was a relief."

Parker accepts the expectation levels are lower in terms of what England can achieve this summer, but insists that does not equate to less pressure to perform among the players.

He said: "I don't feel there is less pressure on the team. There is probably a little bit less expectation but, at the same time, when you are at a tournament you want to do well.

"We are England and we put pressure on ourselves as players as much as from the outside. We are hoping we are going to do well and we will do our best."

Parker's relief at being available for the Euro finals is in stark contrast to the disappointment he felt a week ago on Tottenham missing out on a Champions League spot.

Parker said: "I was away on a family holiday in Dubai and watched the final on my laptop. To be honest I was disappointed.

"We worked so hard to get to fourth position and obviously to lose it (the Champions League spot) at that late stage was disappointing."

Parker admits the players are adapting to the ideas and demands of new England head coach Roy Hodgson.

He said: "It is a different manager with different ideas. You have to adapt as players as quick as possible.

"We are all playing at different clubs and have different styles of play and he has set us up and told us how to play.

"It is about being tactically aware and disciplined as a team which you have to be at international level.

"It is very clear what the manager wants and he can get that across very, very well so that is clear."

The news that Michael Dawson is back in training at Spurs Lodge will delight Spurs fans following an injury-hit season that our popular defender just wants to forget.

Dawson – together with Tom Huddlestone – has spent more time than he would like in the treatment room. But he was already back running as the campaign came to an end and, typically, he’s back with all his old enthusiasm and can’t wait for pre-season training!

“I’ve certainly got to know Tom a lot better because he hardly played at all last season so he’s had it even harder than me,” says Michael. “As a result we’ve been working hard together but it’s great that the two of us managed to get back out there before the summer break and we can now look forward to next season and coming back stronger.

“As a footballer you are naturally programmed to want to play football and that is your whole outlook. So if that is taken away from you, particularly over a long period, then you have to find a different kind of mental toughness.

“I am going away to get myself fit throughout the summer. I am determined to make up for lost time, have a good season and play many games. I’m single-minded in that because you realise how much you love the game when participation is taken away from you.”

After a breakthrough season, Jake Livermore has spoken about how it feels to play for the club he loves.

Born in Enfield, Livermore has been with us since his schooldays. He grew up in a Spurs-supporting household and although Arsenal were among those clubs reported to be interested in adding him to their Academy, there was only one direction for him.

“It had to be Tottenham, it couldn’t have been anywhere else – and, thankfully, Spurs also wanted me,” he says. “I’m proud to be a Spurs player and when I was 16 and told that they would take me on full-time, I could not have been happier.

“I was also fortunate that all the family love Spurs, including my father and uncle who were particularly keen. And my mother Heather was a major influence in those early days when she would just tell me to believe, make it happen and be worthy of it when it did.

“So I shared my dream with all of them and their delight in seeing me get this far makes it even better for me. I’ve always been a confident type of person and I agree that that’s certainly helped me along the way but you still need people behind you and I’m glad that I was able to justify their belief.

“When you’re growing up you have so many friends and players you’re playing with who don’t make it and it’s difficult because you sometimes think that you’ll be one of them. But I owe a lot to my family to keeping me going and keeping me strong.”

Brad Friedel spoke of his pride after recording a 25-year best 14 clean sheets in the league last season - but, typically, was quick to divert the praise to the team around him.

That is the best clean sheet total since David Pleat's fine team of 1986-87.

Ray Clemence kept 19 clean sheets as we finished third in the old First Division, lost in the final of the FA Cup and semi-finals of the League Cup.

"A good defensive record is always the base for a successful team," said Brad, who stretched his record of consecutive starts in the Premier League to 304 last season.

"Clean sheets are a cumulative effort, it's not just the work of one person.

"In some games, like Blackburn, I kept a clean sheet without having to touch the ball.

"As a goalkeeper, obviously you always go out and try not to concede goals so if you keep a clean sheet, you feel like you've done your job.

"But I would much rather win the game 2-1 and get the three points than draw 0-0 and just get one.

"Every goalkeeper is pleased when they record a clean sheet. I had no idea that 14 was the best at the club for 25 years but what I will say is that I hope we can better it next season."

With Euro 2012 approaching fast, Croatia got their preparations off to a perfect start with a 3-1 win over Estonia.

Vedran Corluka scored the opening goal for Slaven Bilic's team with a volley from close range, and Niko Kranjcar, playing as a second half substitute, initiated the move which led to Ognjen Vukojevic sealing victory with Croatia's third goal.

Back in England, Harry Kane played 89 minutes as England U19s got their European Championship qualifying campaign off to an impressive start with a 5-0 win over Slovenia at Deepdale.

The forward caused Slovenia all sorts of problems with his movement and probing runs in the first half, with two players cautioned for cynical fouls on the Spurs player.

Scott Parker, Rafa van der Vaart and Sandro all played for their countries on Saturday in the latest round of international friendlies.

Scott played 56 minutes for Roy Hodgson's team as England secured a 1-0 win in Norway courtesy of an Ashley Young goal early in the game.

Bulgaria inflicted a surprise 2-1 defeat on the Netherlands in Amsterdam, with Rafa playing 64 minutes of the match. Robin Van Persie gave the home side the lead before van der Vaart conceded a penalty for handball which was duly scored, and the Bulgarians scored again in the dying seconds to secure victory.

In Germany, Sandro played 85 minutes of Brazil's 3-1 win over Denmark with the midfielder putting in a typically energetic shift.

Our First Team will play Stevenage in a friendly as part of our pre-season preparations in July.

The fixture is due to take place at the Lamex Stadium on Tuesday July 17, kick off 7.45pm.

We were held to a goalless draw in our most recent visit to Stevenage this season in The FA Cup fifth round before winning the replay to advance.

Gary Smith's Stevenage side went on to secure a playoff place in their maiden League One campaign following a sixth place finish.

Tottenham Hotspur have identified former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas as a potential replacement for manager Harry Redknapp and may move for the Portugese this summer. Villas-Boas, who was sacked by Chelsea in March, has been highly recommended to Spurs’ Chairman Daniel Levy by Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.
Levy’s relationship with Redknapp has become strained after Spurs blew a ten point lead over North London rivals Arsenal to finish fourth and ultimately missed out on a place in the Champions League, after sixth-placed Chelsea claimed the crown in Munich. It is the second time in as many seasons that Spurs’ form has plummeted after Christmas, with this season’s rut coinciding with mass media speculation linking Redknapp with the vacant England manager’s job. Although Redknapp denies it was a distraction, he has conceded that others at the club felt he took his eye off the ball, with Levy believed to be among them.
Redknapp, who has one year remaining on his current deal, was offered a new contract at the height of the England speculation but, with Levy increasingly concerned about the 65-year-old’s priorities, the offer has since been withdrawn.

What do you think lads ? would you like to see this change in Manager.
    "Veni, Vidi, Vici".

Most football teams are temperamental. That's 90% temper and 10% mental.

I personally think we should stick with Arry for another season, but if he does get the elbow, then AVB would not be my choice...I would rather give Brendon
    Rodgers a chance!

Fabrice Muamba's collapse made lasting impact on me, says Howard Webb as he warns against crying wolf

Webb said in an interview that the Muamba incident during an FA Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur and his subsequent recovery had had a lasting impact on him.

Speaking at Fifa's medical congress, he said that referees may be reluctant to stop the flow of games if they thought a player was "crying wolf" and that any delay could have been fatal for Muamba.

"I turned and saw him lying face down on the ground with no one else nearby - this was clearly a major concern and something more than a normal injury," said Webb who refereed the 2010 World Cup final.

"The fact he wasn't rolling around screaming in agony, the way he went down with no contact, meant immediately it was serious. And it was not only me - the players recognised it. You see William Gallas's reaction - an opposing player - immediately waving to the bench to come on.

"If the game had not been stopped within 20 or 30 seconds, that might have made a difference to his chances of recovery.

"One of our obligations as a referee is to try and observe fair play and keep the game flowing when we can. But, if players cry wolf too many times, then there is a possibility that maybe we will not react in the way we need to do based on what we saw there.

"If we come under criticism for stopping the games too many times for doctors or physios to enter the field of play then referees might be inclined not to stop the game."

Webb said he had the feeling the crowd was pushing with (Bolton doctor) Jonathan Tobin to get Muamba's heart going.

"They realised how serious it was once the CPR started," he said. "It was amazing, absolutely astonishing.

"It was just the most unbelievable crowd reaction I have ever experienced in football and thinking about it now makes me feel emotional. There was 40,000 people there and the doctors were so focused, doing what they did in those circumstances.

Webb said the incident had put things into perspective and that although results are important, without life there is no football at all and as he was driving home after the game, Webb thought Muamba had little chance of surviving.

"There was a numb sensation that lasted the whole night and next day about what you'd witnessed," he said.

"We thought it was a slim hope that he would pull through.

"But no news was good news and gradually there was some more hope."

The match was abandoned after the incident which happened shortly before halftime.

"The players pretty much decided themselves," Webb said. "There were players in the shower and they had already taken the decison to call the game off. Players from both teams were clearly of the mind that they didnt want to continue in those circumstances."

Tobin told reporters it was still too early to say whether the 24-year-old Muamba would ever play again.

"That decision is yet to be taken. Discussions are going on with the cardioligists in London and Fabrice and they will eventually decide what will happen," he said.

While Muamba, whose heart stopped beating for 78, was lucky to survive, other players have not been so fortunate.

Piermario Morosino, 25, of Serie B side Livorno died last month in similar circumstances to Muamba and a global survey by Fifa showed 84 footballers have suffered cardiac arrests on the pitch and died during the last five years.

Fifa's medical committee chairman Michel D'Hooghe said Muamba's collapse highlighted the need for a defibrillator to be available at every match.

"Fifa has given the national associations a lot of money and perhaps they should use some of that money to provide them at every club," he told a news conference.

    Thumbs up

Goal-line technology to be tested at England v Belgium friendly at Wembley

Goal-line technology is to be tested at England's friendly against Belgium at Wembley on June 2.

The Hawkeye system will be installed at the national stadium for the match, which will be Roy Hodgson's first home game in charge of England.

If there are any close calls however only the scientists monitoring the system will know the results - the referee will not be informed.

If the tests are successful, the go-ahead for technology is expected to be given on July 2.

It will be the final live test for the Hawkeye system and follows a previous test during the Hampshire FA Senior Cup final at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium on May 16.

Another system, called GoalRef, is being tested in the Danish Super League. All the tests are being monitored by officials from EMPA, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology.

FIFA said in a statement: "Such tests could lead to the International Football Association Board (IFAB) approving the introduction of GLT at its special meeting at the beginning of July.

BBC Sport's Patrick Gearey reports from a screening session held at Tottenham's White Hart Lane.

There has been "a surge" in requests for heart screenings from young people following Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba's cardiac arrest during an FA Cup tie at Tottenham in March.

The incident has led to a big increase in young people asking for screenings according to cardiologist professor Sanjay Sharma.

Tottenham Ready to Bid £7m for Newcastle Striker Demba Ba

Tottenham Hotspur are contemplating making an offer for Newcastle striker Demba Ba who has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for as little as £7million.

The Senegal international scored 16 Premier League goals last season but did struggle to find the back of the net after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations when Papiss Cisse was handed the central role.

The Telegraph has reported that Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is a known admirer of the striker and is considering making a bid that will trigger his release clause.

Tottenham could have a completely new look strike force next season as they currently only have one senior striker at the club in Jermain Defoe.

The decision was made to allow Louis Saha to leave the club, while Emmanuel Adebayoris set to return to Manchester City as no deal has yet to be agreed between the two clubs.

Ba certainly proved his proficiency in front of goal in the first half of the season but he did struggle when asked to play in wider positions after the arrival of Cisee.

However, Tottenham have often preferred to play a lone striker, with Rafa van deer Vaart offering support from deeper positions. This role perfectly suits Ba who excelled when performing like this with Newcastle.

One issue could be the medical history of Ba who previously failed a medical at Stoke because of serious knee problems, yet, there was no such problems last season.

I think Villas Boas could be an excellent manager given time, like Cambspur though, my real first choice would have been Rodgers. He has the qualities that any Spurs team should always be associated with, guess I'll have to get used to the idea of another twitchy season though!

Thanks also to NY17 for the new thread, as always, love a change rather than the same old...same old!

Redknapp set for crunch talks over his Tottenham future

The Spurs boss will meet chairman Daniel Levy on Friday as the pair look to settle their considerable differences, with the Londoners ready to offer the 65-year-old a new contract.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will hold summit talks on Friday with chairman Daniel Levy over his future at the club, Goal.com can reveal.

The relationship between the pair is thought to be at its lowest point following Redknapp’s public flirtation with the England job and the team’s end of season slump.

Redknapp is believed to be concerned about whether he has the backing of the board, with Levy yet to offer him a new contract despite the fact his current deal expires next summer.

Levy is likely to indicate to Redknapp that he is willing to offer the 65-year-old a one-year contract extension as he looks to settle the differences that have resulted in the deterioration of their already strained relationship since February.

The Spurs chairman believes Redknapp deserves a new deal after guiding the club to two top-four finishes in the last three seasons, even though Chelsea’s Champions League win has relegated the north London club to the Europa League next term.

But Levy is understood to have reservations over whether Redknapp is the right man to take Spurs forward in the long-term after the side threw away a 10-point lead over Arsenal to miss out on third place in the Premier League.

Executives at White Hart Lane feel Redknapp lost focus following the resignation of Fabio Capello as England manager in February, while concerns have been expressed about match preparation, training and tactics.

Levy was at one stage desperate to keep Redknapp from the clutches of the Football Association and prepared a four-year contract worth £16m for the former Portsmouth boss.

But Redknapp - who rejected those advances as he held out for an approach from the FA - would now have to settle for a maximum offer of a two-year deal on similar terms to his current salary, which is worth £3.1m plus bonuses.

Redknapp believes such an offer would fail to recognise his achievements at Spurs since taking over when they were bottom of the league in October 2008. He has made no secret of his desire for a new contract since Roy Hodgson was appointed as the new England manager at the start of May.

There is also tension over the club’s work in the transfer market, where Levy is driving the summer business, including a protracted pursuit of Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen, leaving Redknapp feeling isolated and out of the loop.

There were suggestions last week that Redknapp had taken an impromptu break abroad to ‘clear his head’ amid concerns over his future and both he and Levy are keen to clear the air and move forward.

When Redknapp was the leading candidate for the England job, Spurs made progress in sounding out a number of potential replacements. Brendan Rodgers, who is set to be appointed as Liverpool manager today, was the preferred choice while Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is also admired within White Hart Lane.

Van der Vaart agent confirms Schalke interest

The Dutchman’s representative claims the German side want the playmaker, with Spurs’ failure to reach the Champions League and his relationship with Harry Redknapp fuelling a move

Rafael van der Vaart’s agent Robert Geerlings has confirmed that Schalke are interested in signing the Tottenham playmaker.

The Dutchman is currently preparing for Euro 2012 with the Netherlands squad and refused to comment on the speculation when questioned on Wednesday.

Geerlings told Kicker of the Gelsenkirchen side’s interest but also explained that Van der Vaart is happy to remain in London for the forseeable future.

A lack of Champions League football at White Hart Lane next season is thought to be a key factor that may see the Dutchman move from north London.

Geerlings also hinted that the Dutchman's relationship with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is a cause for concern, further fuelling specualtion of a move away.

Since joining Tottenham in August 2010, Van der Vaart has gone on to make 75 appearances for the club, scoring 28 goals in the process.

"Super" Pav told he's to fat for the Euro's!!

During a dull 0-0 draw between Russia and Lithuania a few days ago, ex- Spur Pavlyuchenko played the second 45 minutes and had one volleyed shot go wildly off target.

After spending a month out injured with a thigh injury, Pav himself was surprised to even be selected for the squad and Russia's manager Dick Advocaat has been most unimpressed with his effort so far. He's told him he is too fat and that he has one week to lose 3kg if wants to re-join the squad for the Euros.

This for me sums up Pav and makes me glad we got rid of the lazy shyster. He's lazy beyond belief on the pitch and since leaving Spurs in January, he has only been selected to play in nine matches for Lokomotiv Moscow and has scored two goals. He gets injured and with the Euros coming up can't be bothered to stay fit because he doesn't think he'll get picked, gets fat, plays crap, and is told to lose weight.

Clearly showing how he made most Spurs fans feel with his style of play!!
