Ratboy been fined for the second time in three days..

That's it keep fining him until he shows up for work.

As has been the way in recent dealings with Levy and big-name departures from Tottenham, the chairman holds all the cards having persuaded Modric to sign a six-year deal in May 2010, which puts the club firmly in the driving seat.
    In Levy we trust!!!

Modric wants to join Real. Real Won't meet Spurs' valuation. Real want to Sell Kaka. Spurs could very much utilise Kaka....... Is everybody aware what i'm getting at? If not, cash plus player deal. 22Mill and Kaka would be pretty immense if you ask me!

£35million offer = sold...it really is that simple!

The problem also is Modric has hardly added to his so called value in the last 12 months has he? Wasn't he 50 million last season? I'm just glad we didn't get the wanker

Modric tried the same going on strike tactics last season and you would of thought he would have learned that you cannot mess with Mr Levy. He has three years on his contact and if he wants to leave then Madrid will have to pay up or he is under contact at spurs and he has a duty to play for them. Any other job you would get the sack for not carrying out his duties not just fined. Simple as really. Why did he sign a contact extension then at Spurs??

Actually he didn't go on strike last season, just asked not play in a couple of games at the start of the season because his "head wasn't right"!! I see he has
now returned to Spurs Lodge for training & apparently appologised to Levy. Too late mate because you won't be forgiven!!

Well, AVB said he was 99% of his transfer dealings done before the start of the US tour, if this is that case then we look in a poor position for the start of the season, the squad isn't any stronger, and, potentially weaker!

    AVB planning Atsu approach
Spurs boss looking to lure Ghanaian winger to White Hart Lane

The 20-year-old winger joined the first-team ranks at Estadio do Dragao during Villas-Boas' reign. He is yet to make the breakthrough into the senior side, but impressed during a loan spell at Rio Ave in 2011/12. A number of eye-catching displays suggest he is capable of turning out on a grander stage.

I agree about him not adding to his price mate as his head was clearly elsewhere but us Spurs fans know he is a top class player and the club has every right of holding out for that figure, at the very least.
As for you lot not getting him, just as I said above. He is top class player and would only have made you stronger. In my opinion, the further he is from the Premier League, the better.

Agree on most of this scouseman but as said by Cambspur, he sat out a couple of games because his head wasn't right. Also he actually has 4 years left on his contract and just like you state, I would say the ball is firmly in our court.

I watched the game also mate, the major worry for me is that we are left with only Defoe as a front man. I can't see it staying that way until the season gets underway though as he will not fit into the way AVB wants us to play. Either the Adebayor deal will have to get sorted or another big front man will come in instead.

Just to think we had Pav, Defoe and Crouch with Adebayor coming in in August this time last year, how on earth was any manager brave enough to let that happen and think it would just smooth itself out?

    Linked with another winger!
Surely we need a striker and a keeper first?

The club have just announced that Jermaine Defoe is to return back from the US tour after learning the sad news of the death of his cousin while she was
    on holiday in St Lucia.

The poor man, he has had so many rough turns in the last few years with regards to family. My wishes go out to both him and his family at this sorry time and I only hope he can return with his head clear, as and when he feels is right.
    RIP Jermains Cousin.

I'm pretty happy with the signings of Marin,Hazard and Oscar mate. All young and talented and one of them is a Brazilian. All for 10 million more than you wanted for Modric. I think we are a lot stronger now than we would of been with a 50 mill spoilt brat from Croatia. We still need a decent striker though. Got any?

I'm still wondering about Marin and Hazard but Oscar looks like a blinding piece of business, as long as he can handle the physical aspect you have some player on your hands. Marin was spoken of as a huge talent 2-3 years ago and you snapped him up on the cheap, still has a lot to prove in my opinion. Hazard will get far more of a kicking in the Premier League, if he handles that, then I think you potentially have another gem.
All three of them or Modric?, I'm with you on that.
Strikers...I only bloody hope we get at least 1 soon!

Thats the only thing that worries me too - the physical aspect. Those 3 along with Mata and Ramires, well great players but hardly the strongest (although it has to be said Ramires runs for 90 mins like a Wildebeest on speed) Any cynic would accuse us of trying to turn into Barcelona and building a "Pepe" team

Sorry to hear about Defoe's cousin. How something like that can happen in this day and age is beyond me

Was just reading about Gaston Ramirez's agent being in talks with an unnamed Premier League club, after reading that, I preceded to read some of the comments Sky Sports registered fans had left on the man.
I put this down as the pick of the bunch as it had me laughing my bollocks off!

    Jerry says:

"How unusual Spurs sudden interset in another Liverpool target. They seem to have a very lazy scouting system".

    ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess we weren't 'that lazy' last season or we could have 'acquired' Downing, Henderson and Carroll!
