I certainly hope you're right N17, because it looks like we are going to need him to hit the ground running if we don't manage to get one or two
new top strikers in before this window shuts! Here is the best what he managed last season, most of which were scored coming off the bench!

Spot on. One of my posts included profane language. The other had no profanity at all. It was simply a comment about my disliking of Bale's diving and I mentioned how I also dislike the diving and cheating of Suarez. Perfectly fair and genuine post. Should never have been deleted.

I think that the actual content of your posts, once some of the more vibrant language is removed, is often interesting and worthy of posting. But, unless you moderate your style a little you will come into conflict, and the likes of me will continue to have to try and stop you all having a virtual rumble.
In all my posts on here I have only used profanity in one post and that was in direct response to the post that refered to Adam as a c*nt and the wish that he had his leg broken this season. I thought I would see if I could use such nasty language and an unpleasant tone (although only as unpleasant as calling Bale ugly, not wishing someone would break his leg). The answer was that I could not use that sort of language but some (including the poster I replied to) could.

I don't troll (I actually find the term ridiculous because it allows certain types to throw it around in lazy accusations). You will find that the majority of my posts here are simple and straight forward posts. After the Charlie Adam foul on Bale and all the whinging after it, I was interested to see what a Spurs fan made of it all. I was very surprised to see that post about Adam and had my say about it. Simple as that.

Personally, I do not like censorship in any form and I don't like people moderating in a half-arsed manner. Why was the initial post about Adam not removed? It beggars belief that a post that calls him a c*nt and calling for someone to break his leg is not removed and my post about diving and cheating is. That's the problem I have with deleting posts. Once you start censoring people, you have to be fair and even-handed. On this occaison, that did not happen.

Sold to Rubin Kazan, was never good enuff for us!

Players were told yesterday who is staying and who will be told that they are free to find new clubs or loans. Andre gave everybody the opportunity to prove themselves in his first month in charge as has been reflected in the number of participents in friendlies. Now we are back in the UK, expect movement from here on in....players on the out Bentley, Jenas, Bassong, Gallas and Naughton. Deals for Leandro and Ade still viable no matter what we read in the press apparently.

Bentley, Jenus & Bassong can go today as far as I'm concerned, but finding them clubs who want them, and are prepared to pay their wage expectations is another thing altogether, don't hold your breath!! I thought Gallas did well on the US tour, and would be good cover. He may not want this of course, and will probably be allowed to go if he wants regular 1st team football elsewhere. Naughton just needs more experience, and will probably go out on loan again, he is worth keeping in my opinion.
The key to more players coming in is the Modric situation, if a deal can finally go through with Real Madrid we can expect some decent transfers.

With Tottenham now looking to finally put in a serious offer to secure the services of Leandro Damiao, I read an article earlier today that described him as a Brazilian Emile Heskey!!! I only hope that whoever wrote this meant he was good at holding the ball up!!

    lol

Looks to me like you had the last word.

Bert said something I wanted to reply to. That was the end of it, as far as I was concerned. For some reason, you had other ideas.

    Let's clear some things up.

Your posts weren't deleted due to their language, or the way they described anything, but merely because they were part of a chain of posts taking the thread off topic. It was nothing personal, or half arsed, and you must have noticed by now that we like threads to stay on topic here. You can always start threads if you want to discuss a particular topic and there isn't a thread already, or at least that's the way we look at it.

I didn't explain myself clearly in my earlier post, for which I apologise. I wasn't referring to your language being profane - in all honesty, your posts are always written in clear, well worded English and refrain from using slang or bad language, for the vast majority. However, the tone in which you post in often provocative. A good example of this is in the post of yours I've quoted. I'm going to break down the post to show what I mean:

lol - shows a light hearted intent

Looks to me like you had the last word. - could be confrontational, but isn't because of lol

Bert said something I wanted to reply to. That was the end of it, as far as I was concerned. - to the core of the post - point clearly made, and politely

For some reason, you had other ideas. - light hearted tone of post has passed due to more serious sentence - this makes the last sentence provocative

This is a pattern repeated in your posts - good, well made points, speckled with comments that many would see as, at best, provocative. There may be little intent beyond banter, but others see it differently.

Now, censorship.. the forum auto censors some words, so fcuk becomes ****, but strangely the c word isn't censored. Never really understood that myself! But rule 4 for the forum says:

Foul language is prohibited. We know most of the members use some words as slang, not meaning to offend anyone. However, we cannot have some gray area of allowed words, to improve clarity on this subject.
So, I've deleted the post that offends, and also deleted your quote of it above.

Now, end of off topic discussion - if you need to reply to something i've said, please use the report button and I'll read it.

if ANYONE mentions this topic again, they will get a 2 day ban. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
    There is no truth
And I may not be interested in your opinion

I really do hope Tottenham can sign Leandro Damiao, as the boy looks tailor made to suit the Premier league...take a look at this

It's the third season on the trot we have been linked with him, at least this time the rumours seem far stronger. I hope Levy gets it done as starting the season with only Defoe, could prove disastrous.

Just read this and it really put a smile on my face, I've always held him in high regard and if it's true that he's available, Levy should get on the blower now!

Would be a dream come true if we could sign both him & Damaio, but just don't think funds will allow this

Funds are not the problem if we can get who we want..huge investment (re: naming rights) coming in that will be reveled after the transfer deadline...just other things holding deals up at the moment, Olympics complicating things a little.

All very well saying funds are coming in AFTER the window closes, that's for the future...we need at least two strikers now, so funds are a problem unless
a solution can be made to get the Modric to Real deal done, and if it does it will probably be a few hours before the window close's!

I've been a season ticket holder at WHL since 1979, so believe me I know what being patient is all about

It's looking very likely that we are going to lose Modric in this transfer window, and I for one will be absolutely gutted if he goes.

A lot of 'uneducated' Spurs fans have been very blahzay about the imminent departure of Luka, saying he's over-rated and can be replaced, I thoroughly disagree and feel we will be a hell of a lot weaker if he does leave!

The educated amongst us will realise that for passing, receiving the ball under pressure, keeping possession and creating attacking opportunities, there are very few around that are as good as him, especially in the Premier League. A lot of people say he's overrated because he doesn't score enough or assist enough goals for the team, but if you were to watch him and only him during one of our games you would realise that he is the only one that really keeps play ticking over, has fantastic movement and is almost impossible to mark or track. Without his class we wouldn't have scored a lot of the goals we had!

If you were playing in defence for Tottenham, and you were being pressed by an attacker, i guarantee the person you'd want to see in front of you was Modric, as you are safe in the knowledge that his touch will be immaculate, his body movement will lose the pressure and his pass will be successful.

I really fear for us this season if we don't keep him, as the Premier League is becoming more technical by the day, and the likes of Livermore, Jenas, Huddlestone, Parker, Sandro just do not cut it in that department.

Agree or disagree with what i said, he's been our best player for the last couple of seasons and we will be a lot less formidable without him! Real can stick their 35Mill up their arse! I want Luka to stay!

I don't want Modric to leave either, but the problem is he doesn't want to stay!! Do you really want to see him play to 65/70% of what he is capable of again?
because that what we witnessed last season for the majority of the games he played in, and if he is still with us after the window closes his heart just won't
    be in it again!
I know it's going to be difficult to replace him, but not impossible. We have some very gifted and talented midfielders in our squad, and sorry to keep repeating
this, but after watching the Valencia game last night, our main concern should be finding strikers!! We were pitiful up front last night.
