Default Wiziwig Beta: discussion & comments

In the coming weeks we will be testing our brand new website. And we need you for that!

    Visit: http://beta.wiziwig.eu!

The new Wiziwig website offers you a great deal of extra things in addition to what you are used to. Together with the best live streams we now provide match and competition statistics, betting comparisons, better schedule overviews, better searches and more.

Of course, all of this is quite new to us too. The new features of the website pose a higher capacity demand on our servers. We would like to know how the new setup functions. To that end we would like to test our new platform.

Main goal is to test our setup. Yet we know that the website itself still contains minor bugs. You are encouraged to discuss your ideas and opinions in this special forum topic.

If you mean with that: the design, then yes, it does look the same. But the beta website contains so much more content, information and details!

    Thumbs up

I like its nice clear and crisp look, only thing i dont really like is the new download new software packs bit the only ones used these days is SopCast, StreamTorrent and Veetle but even that has lost its day and then we have Flash also.

All in all it looks cool...

I use the Forums 99% of the time. Having said that the new layout looks good.

I looked at the info for a couple of Baseball games. The Yankees @ Braves game shows 1 stream in the heading of "Stations & Streams" next to Time and Date however below that the text "No streams are available at this time" is seen. In fact there are currently 3 streams listed for that game on the MLB Streaming section of the forum.

The Mets @ Baltimore game shows 1 stream in the heading adjacent to Time and Date, "No streams are available at this time" below, and actually has no streams listed in the forum.

This is most likey due to you guys not having had time to get all of your coding done but I thought you would want a report.

Additionally it might help potential users if the times of events/games were displayed in their local time or a notation were present letting them know that the time listed was for a specific time zone.

Thanks as always for all of the hard work that goes into the site and it's content for our benefit. Also, sorry for writing a book. lol

This isn´t about the forum, it´s about the new schedule page. The one that also lists Live TV & Live Radio etc.

What I don´t like: I can´t login with my existing username and password. I want to use my forum login data!

@actonbhoyrob: yeah that was when it was too busy, so we test it again this time so we can improve that and make it faster/smoother.

@DMW: yeah that's the software package we made a while ago, but with the recent changes we might have to change it to the few you mentioned. That hasn't been done yet as we first want to focus on the performance with more people using it.

@subbbrilliant: not sure what happened then but on all games it should display the same links as we got on wiziwig.tv. But you say the - MLB - link to the forum wasn't working or wasn't showing up? Will have a look at that again today.

@ren123rock: We understand that but for this Beta we decided to work with seperate databases. When we really go live with it we will try to make sure all those with a forum account can use that for the main site as well, and those who register on the main site can also use that account for the forum. So that's the future.

Thanks for the feedback so far

it would be better if the text size for the match links would be better and easier to be found by new users and a little central, rest everything looks great

For certain sports, in order to provide the latest updates for games that happen overnight, a link is posted that takes people to a forum page.

This looks just like a stream link, and seems to confuse newcomers who often get to the forum page and then start querying why they are not seeing a stream.

Might these links be differentiated in some way, or else a message displayed prior to loading the forum page explaining what is happening?

The design in general is better overall, but on the actual links page itself, for me it's all alittle abit squashed, the Text colour of the streamers names is very light and is hard to tell a difference between who is who, i think if the names of the streamers was in bold and it still carried a small logo next to the names it be better personally.

The ratings of the streamers, i don't see how thats a positive unless Admin is passing ratings, ive seen the system used elsewhere, someone gets aload of viewers to vote themselves up and vote others down, you have 1 streamer with 5 star rating and everyone else with a 1 or 2.lol

Bitrate system, much prefer when it states the bitrate quality. Other than that all looks good.

looks good but must have a system which changed automatically bitrates and quality to the links and not manually of Admin like now !

My view: Great design, clear and transparent home (first) page but when you click live sport - now playing/coming up menu is too small (font,etc..)
There are also two sections of sport to choose/select..One with pictures/thumbnail and one without (small font, above those of the thumbnail). In my opinion "small" could be removed..
When you click on, then you can select a popular competition, great idea but imo the font is to small and maybe it's a bit too crowded with addition of Discuss Football on the forum, View All the Competitions, Football Articles, Live Football News..
I like the ideas but I like simple and quick options, most of people come at streaming sites in hurry to catch up the game and this may distract them.
As a regular user I'm not having problems with surfing over the site but for some this may/could be a problem.
In conclusion, it looks very good, but it would be good to refine some of the little things.

I attempted to download the software but it would not download? Is Firefox compatible? I guess I can't go forward until I get that part resolved. Any advice would be great, thanks in advance.

@doninlousiana: Best would be if for now if you use the software downloads from http://www.wiziwig.tv/software.php?part=software . Download sopcast and streamtorrent there to use the sop and st links without any problems. Still some things have to get fixed.
