Alright, we are getting close. Here in a couple of weeks, I will be getting my PSU, WVU, and FSU forums posted. I am sure many PSU people and those who know me awill be interested in the upcoming season and months involving PSU. All I know is this, it will be weird not seeing Joe Pa on teh sidelines, I feel orphaned BUT I do know that Bill OīBrien is a good fit....... I say we win 7-8 games this season. Lots of holes to fill but we will be o.k.

I agree with the sanctions BUT disagree with the vacating of the wins. It is not because of Joe Paīs record (that for me will always stand), but student athletes are being erased from history and their actions on teh field as well. I do not see why students, alumni, and fans are being punished as well. I do feel for teh victims fo Sandusky, but I also feel for the young men who won those games for themselves, university, etc. They have been erased from history.

Paterno's legacy is that of a sub-human being who traded the innocence of children for a few so-so seasons. It's all so horrid. Three opinions here I'd say should be read: http://thebarnstormer.com/on-penn-state/

The article is all like the rest, everyone has an opinion, and to be honest who are we all to have an opinion if we were not one of the people involved in this. To be honest the scandal has made me sick, I disagree with the vacating of wins because it affects student-athletes who have been erased.

The sanctions aI agree with. I do believe that Sandusky should be put to death by lethal injection for all the public to see. I also believe that Spanier, Schultz, and Curley should be lynched mobbed, de-balled, and have a live rat jammed up their asses.......

Other than that I do not think we are qualified to judge people invoved in this, for we were not involved. The question is what would you do?? On paper we say we would do things different, but do we really truly believe that????

All I know is that Joe Paterno did some good things at teh university for academica, but made a very poor decision by putting Joe before Joe. I dont know exactly what the mans character was but like the great John Wooden said, "reputation is what you are perceived to be, but your character is who you are."

I look forward to watching PSU this season and teh coming seasons, OīBrien will do what he can. Not going to turn my back on my alma mater. The silver lining in all of this for me is Bobby Bowden now becomes teh winningest coach, and that makes teh FSU alumnus side happy, and the WVU alumnus side is looking forward to beating the hell outta Bevo and teh Schooner...... but PSU will be fine, and I will continue to see Joe Paterno as a whole, human but with errors, just like I see each day.

    Thats the ratmanīs take.......

P.S. FT, Big Mac and other mods, I will be setting up my 3 school forums this coming week. I will do teh preview sand what not as always.

As a Professor for Florida State, and although my alma mater was hammered, there is a good thing. The NCAA is gonna be dropping the hammer in teh future on a lot more people. I expcet Miami to be next, but the truth of the matter is, we educate the students and that is what the univ. is for. Therefore, the times are a changing..... Mark Emmert is layin the law down......

One of the better ones I have read this week, this is in defense of Paterno

    http://www.philly.com/philly/opinion/163472006.html

Another article that demonstrates teh other sides point of view can be found in:

    pennlive.com

To have a grasp of the case...I think we need to read teh Freeh Report, which is a well written document, and at FSU we are going to use it for Clery Training. Secondly, read both sides then make a judgement..... no excuse for being not informed

@Rat dude, you know we have all thought about you a lot as all this PSU stuff has come down. First I'm really glad to see the attitude you have shown in these posts. I know you were freaked when this all came out last season, we lost you for a week after it first came out, we know it was hard on you. I applaud you though for sticking with your alma mater. It was not PSU that made the mistakes here - PSU is the faculty, students and alumni. It was certain individuals that, to quote you, "should be put to death by lethal injection for all the public to see" and "should be lynched mobbed, de-balled, and have a live rat jammed up their asses". I don't agree with taking wins away from indivuals that won, too bad the NCAA can't make that distiction between school and players when they do something like deciding to take wins away. And you know Jo Pa will always have that * by his name forever to add back in the wins they took away.

I'm looking forward to another season of rowdieness, trying to talk Rat into not eating worms, starting to drink at 6am HST and hysterical conversation!

    Much Aloha,

    Srf

@Srf, The First Lady of P2P, thanks for your kind words. Many of my friends here in teh forum, have been very supportive of me during this trying time. Although we have never met in person I truly appreciate you just as much as the others. Yes, I have stood by my alma mater through thick and thin, after all PSU gave me a chance to prove myself worthy in Spanish, and look where I ended up. Its still a great school, with strong academia. I too disagree with taking away wins from students athletes, they had nothing to do with it, and I dont see how that gave PSU and advantage on teh field...... as for Joe Pa, I will always respect him, he was human, and had flaws like we all do. I know who won those 111 games, hell I saw them all as a student or alumnus...and yes he still had 409 in my mind....

I LOOK FORWARD TO SATURDAYS IN 3 WEEKS WITH SRF, FT, ND, ASH, BIG MAC, CRAZY MIAHJJ, ETC. IF I FORGOT NAMES SORRY, BUT YOU KNOW YOU ARE IMP TO TEH RATMANīS EXPERIENCE HERE................ TEH BEER IS STOCKED, TEQUILA READY (WITH WORMS), VODKA, SANGRIA, AND A NEW TWIST FOR THSI SEASON MOJITO MIX !!!!!!!!
