Default NBA Off Season Talk: 2012

    Let's talk Free Agency

Looks like Howard is requesting a trade to the Nyets again, that would probably mean that Williams is staying there. Source

That team would still suck though

oy some of these contracts given out are just flat out ridiculous!

3 years 34mil for an old KG!
3 years 36mil for an old Nash (toronto is offering this not official)
Max deal for Hibbert! (Portland offering this not official)
    4 years 40mil for a 30 year old Crash!
4 years 55mil for Batum (Minny offering this not official)

can't wait to see what JaVale gets! makes me feel so much better about the wizards trading for Okafor + Ariza...
    ...

What was the lockout about again?

I'm really interested in the Lakers this summer. There's gonna be huge changes there, I mean there has to be! They can't compete with OKC at all right now.

Other teams like OKC, Mavs and Chi-Town also will have to do business. Miami have gathered some great pieces from the draft so I think they'll be even stronger next year. :O

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/stor...llas-mavericks

Deron Williams is staying with the Brooklyn Nets.

That is really bad news for the Mavs

Jason Terry probably going to Boston

Lowry to the Raptors...really do not know which plan Morey is going after...maybe to train some PF to play PG...

many changes so far...and the Magic are doing nothing despite Jameer with his new contract...but i have trust in the new GM...biggest thing is to trade the clown first...

    Mavs contracts right now:

    Dirk 2 years
    Haywood 3 years
    Matrix 2 years
Carter 1 year + Team option
Beaubois 1 year (+ qualifying offer)
Dominique Jones 1 year (+ team option)
    Brandan Wright Team option
    + Rookies

So we have no star power besides Dirk (who is aging), 1 decent role player (Shawn Marion), 1 prospect who we should've traded when we had the chance (Roddy) and a bunch of scrubs. No tradable assets and no draft picks (First Round 2013 is owned by Houston although it is Top 20 protected) means a grim future for this franchise.

I say pick up some young free agents on short term deals and tank the season, there is no way you can build a somewhat decent team with what's left on the market (basically nothing + Kris Humphries ).

dallas should do the obvious meaning to make an agreement with number 41 and his no-trade-clause...their future looks bright if cuban can arrange that.everything else is just sentimental bs.nba is business traight up and nothing else.

Oh come on Ray...i really lost all the respect for you...
how in the world can a guy like him sign with a rival such as the Heat...everyone wants the easiest way to win a ring...where is the competition...???
no one is going to fight...that`s a shame...

I have to say I disagree. Ray doesn't owe anything to Boston, hell without him they wouldn't have won their ring. Furthermore he was only with Boston for 5 years out of a still growing 18 year career. If anything he should be remembered as a Buck or Sonic(although he won't be). If it weren't for those great years in MIL or SEA he wouldn't have the all time record he holds today. Because of this I feel that he isn't betraying Boston in the least, rather continuing to expand his career where best suited, which just happens to be Miami in this case.

beasley? eric gordon max-deal? we are so screwed...

i seriously hope the hornets match the offer and want a ridiculous sign and trade, that the suns cant accept. start tanking and getting some talents, not borderline all star scorers, who just want to get paid.

taking a flyer on beasley can't hurt. as long as you make him stay away from those drugs he's gonna put up numbers

heat are the rivals of the celtics???---lmao
nba is business and thats about it.
ray doesnt want his sweet ass kicked by his nemesis rajon rondo again.thats why he is leaving.....and if you leave why not go to a succesful franchise ??
if you think those hyper-paid-multimillionaires owe anything to anyone you simply watch the wrong sport/league.
its a me-first-league and always has been (at least since the first big time tv-deal that gave the big bucks into the association)

thats exactly the point. people thought ray allen was a team first player, but apparently he is not. i wouldnt blame him for anything, but it certainly has changed my view on him.

to be honest, i dont really trust beasley. there is no indication that he will stop doing drugs or whatever. this guy has the talent, but not the work ethic. like i said, he's a borderline all star, who just wants a high contract for scoring 20 a game. in the end, suns will not be in the playoffs, nor will they be in a high position in the draft.

yeah miami is bostons rival right now. i give a fu*k about the past 50 years. i still like ray as player, but this guy was someone i really looked up to one of my all time favs, a guy who always worked his ass off to make his team, fans and organization proud. seems like it aint like that like pwnisher said...
ray let the chance slip to take 2x money and a no trade clause in boston to leave for the team which knocked him out of the playoffs...way to go
