The Orlando Magic have told rival executives that they might not trade Dwight Howard after all, according to league sources.

An executive who has had discussions with the Magic regarding Howard said Orlando only will trade the star center in a deal that is great for the franchise. The executive said this has been Orlando's stance for the past "week or so."


Another executive who has talked with Orlando said he thinks the Magic may start the season with Howard and wait until the February trade deadline to move him.

Each executive left the door open for posturing, noting that the Magic may be bluffing in hopes of coaxing better offers out of opposing teams. But the overriding sense is that Howard may not be moved for weeks, if not months.

wow iggy to the nuggets could mean they finally are heading in the right direction in denver.

magic got pretty much ripped off, but it couldve been worse. lets prepare for some heated rivalry between the magic and bobcats, who are desperately trying to lose against each other to have a better shot at the 1st pick

so basically Denver gave up nothing for Iggy, Philly got one of the best Cs for Iggy, the Lakers got Howard and the Magic got butt raped? Picks and young players are nice but there are going to be some ugly years coming up for the magic...

hm to put that trade in perspective you have to go with same caliber-trades

kareem---walked away and destroyed the franchise for years
walton--ugliest divorce in history plus all the drama in court
shaq--simply walked away and franchise got nothing in return
howard--walked away after some minor drama in the internet age and franchise got almost nothing in return

thats how trades with dominant big men are supposed to happen.
also howard has to prove that he belongs into that category

for magic franchise its lotteryland for the next years
hedo still on the roster---i would have made a huge bet that he would be shipped alongside howard
btw already retired howards jersey in my bedroom---woman will be surely "like" it

it wasn`t the best trade possible for the Magic but it could have been worse...

i am happy we got Moe Harkness out of that deal...Afflalo is solid...Al is the worst thing of all...
to get rid of J-Rich is awesome...although Hedo gone would be better...

And i believe the Magic will surprise people next season...everyone was talking about Dwight...the Magic had no plan to play...Dwight or three...now they can pull down a "regular" game plan...so i am very very happy all this drama of this clown is over...
he fits perfect to LA...

can`t wait for the season to start...!

So the Lakers trade a young C who actually plays hard from time to time for a whiny bitch and the Magic get some scrubs and useless picks, what a ripoff.
I like Denvers part of the trade though, I always had a soft spot for Iggy.
