    Default SopCast Problems September 2012

Hi all! I'm rather new to this forum and don't know if this is the right place to post this,I apologize if it isn't. Sopcast started crashing during the halftime of UEFA CL matches on Sept.19-th. No channels were working the error message generally being "Can not access Sopcast service". Is it technical or the same sort of problem that occurred during EURO2012? Thanks for all answers!

    Default virginmedia and sopcast

Tried to watch the man u game tonight and sopcast kep saying can not connect to sopcast services. I then tried to go to sopcast home page but would not load. Then after the match had finished i was able to connect to sopcast website. And tried the sopcast link for the game and it went through and then said channel now offline. Which is what i would expect.
Has anyone else had a problem connecting to sopcast on virmin media
    cheers guys

I think a few people had problems with Sopcast tonight. Myself? I had none, connected to NavipHD very quickly and with a stable rate of 91 all match.

Sopcast have been having some server issues the last few days, so it could be that, but could also be it was too busy when you tried to re-connect, as that message is common then. Might have been a combination of both. From what I hear they hope to have it sorted in a few days.

I think it was the sopcast server problem. I couldn't login when I opened the sopcast software and their official website was down too. Luckily I could connect to the bloodzeed channel once I could login after the match started 5 mins. It was lag before the half time so I tried to reconnect it during the break but failed.

Meanwhile, all of the non football channel also couldn't be access, so I don't think it was the same issue of Euro 2012. Finally I connected to a Netherlands channel at 60 mins. after trying 2X times. The sopcast should be fine now since I can connect those Russian and Romanian channel.

As bert says sopcast is having server issues in some parts of the world for over a week now.

You're not alone. I was unable to watch champions league via sopcast last night. A wierd thing is that sopcast was available right after the end of the matches. But during the game I couldn't connect to any channel and to sopcast.com web site either.

DMW is right, sopcast has problems in some parts..it is also possible that the servers are overloaded, quality of streams and popularity of program itself are drastically increased and they could be cought a bit late or asleep with server(s) upgrade

No it hasn't. This was doing my head in as I thought I'd created a software or connection issue on my PC.

Was about to test another computer until I saw this forum. Thanks for the updates all, but the problems still occur.

I'm guessing the seedboxes are getting really stretched, and if people are flipping on and off services like you would a TV channel, well it disrupts the whole network. You used to see it in big games on Sopcast when it got to the 85th minute in say the Manchester Derby.

Now it's every game, every week. Guess it's not so underground any more...

or maybe it's because a lot of people don't follow advice and get on in plenty of time, and then when everyone tries to connect at kick off lots of people get the time out messages, 'cannot access Sopcast service' and 'cannot retrieve data' which are both ways of saying 'i'm not getting an answer mate'. If 20,000 all try to connect at once, there's going to be a wee bit of a delay, and Sop times out before the answer comes.

Signing in with plenty of notice, but sadly I'm simply at the bottom of the food chain.

You are right though, that would help, but Sopcast is fast going the way of a popular torrent it seems.

Thumbs up Bloodzeed only opens on primary screen with sopcat player & VLC is not smooth enough!

I am using sopcast 3.5.0 and streaming bloodzeed (and some others) for the football. I used to be able to use the inbuilt sopcast player on either of my connected screens however I am now not able to. Is there a fix around this?

I was also able to change the buffering time when right clicking on the sopcast player screen which now isn't available when right clicking.

When using VLC to work around both of these issues the picture is too jittery and I am getting 100% signal through.

Essentially I am after as smooth a playback as possible and VLC isn't doing the job as well as sopcast player used to. Does anyone have optimal settings for VLC streaming playback? As detailed as possible would be preferable so other users can eradicate this issue as I have seen a few other on the net with this issue but as yet no definitive answers.

    Many thanks for any help!
