Install the software;

And then just use IE (Internet explorer) to watch.

none, or chinese, or english. Mostly stadium sound...
I've just registered to let people know that I am getting a generic trojan virus warning from Avast (avast! antivirus - high security and protection from malware with anti-spyware and anti-rootkit software built in) from the first Sina Live link on this page..
MyP2P.eu :: SINA Live Guide, your best guide for SINA Live
With the actual link being..
http://dl.uc.sina.com/SinaTvWebPluginSetup.exe
The trojan is generic with Avast giving a Win32:Trojan-gen {Other} warning. The second link on the page..
http://download.tv.sina.com.cn/sinatvwebpluginsetup.exe
..doesn't.
Not sure if any of the mods want to look into that, otherwise it's general info for the forum.
Avast seems to warn for everything? It's up to you what you do, it's safe here and doesn't cause trouble. But if you don't want to use it don't use it.
i used to allways get warnings with p2p streaming software i tend to ignore it now
dont know of any reported problems with it fingers crossed
Got to say I've been using Avast for probably as long as the company has been going, and it's been a solid AV checker (no trojan/virus in about 5 years - heh, mind you I've fooled IE into thinking there isn't a connection and only surf with FF).
I find it flags things up only rarely, once or twice every 4 months or so? And I'm a developer who downloads tons of unknown exe's.
Yup, totally, I wasn't doing anything other than flagging up the issue. I installed it and again Avast flagged up a memory resident trojan, so I unstalled the app. It's all in Chinese, heh.. nothing wrong with that other than I can't read it..., and the installer was hardly up to date so I can't say I had full confidence in it in the first place.
I'm happy using something else, just a shame the stream I am looking for (tonight's Celtic/Aalborg game) has so few options. Again, not that I'm complaining, free is after all free..![]()
Okay thanks![]()
checking Sina out now
Hit a problem, installed the web player, now where do I go for the matches?
In general - P2P is only as trustworthy as the software maker and the peers you exchange. So the answer is it's not. Do at your own risk.
Sina has been reported by many AV software as trojan etc. The thing that makes me unconfortable most is it uses Iexplorer. Of course it convenient but I wouldnt trust it completly.
Use virtual machine if you can, if it's fast enough.
